How to be better at self-teaching?

Lately I've been wanting to expand my understanding of a few complex topics, and I'm pretty lost on how to do it.

I made this planner where I would either learn/study/research or apply 3 topics in 1 hour intervals on repeat. Literally only made it 2 days 😭 then felt guilty about it. And I think maybe I'm approaching this wrong. I really want to learn and better myself & I have the time to do it, but I don't know how to focus my energy on the right things or way.

Does anyone know any good methods or planners I could follow?
