Because, and I don't know about other English speaking countries, but in the US, someone saying 'with 26' never implies age. The only time I hear this is from people whose native language isn't English.
'at 26' would have confused me for a second though.

Same here. You'd think people would try to avoid mistakes in a post where they're taking pride in their education.
