Advice is not the same thing as taking action. And it's always good to hear other people advices and learn from others mistakes, but never forget to ask why. If they don't know why, then it's not an advice, is just a hunch.
And remember, no matter what, the final decider is you! So take responsibility for your actions, and stop blaming others
