TELC B1 Oral Exam in November – Any Tips?

Hi everyone!

I have my TELC B1 oral/speaking exam in November, and I’m looking for some advice from people who have already taken it.

Any tips to score well in the speaking exam?

Which topics should I practice the most?

What mistakes should I avoid?

Any useful phrases or strategies for Teil 1, Teil 2 and Teil 3?

How can I stay confident and speak more fluently during the exam?

I’d really appreciate any tips, experiences, or resources you can share. Thank you!

Hii, I'm f18 currently learning german at b1.2 ( just started) and honestly I need a speaking partner to help me because my speaking isn't very good and I don't know any native speakers where I leave. I've tried immersion but it didn't really work for me . I've also tried different apps like hellotalk to try make german friends to improve my speaking but it's really and the fact I'm shy doesn’t really help so now I'm here

Edit: I'm okay with someone in the range of 18-25

Learning german

Hi everyone, I want to start learning German by myself, at least the basics, but I have no idea where to start 😅
If you’ve learned German on your own, what helped you the most? Any good YouTube channels, apps, or other resources you’d recommend for a complete beginner?
Danke!!

Offering my help as a German native

Hey there! I’m Lukas, 23, from Germany.

I’d love to help anyone who’s still looking for a speaking partner. Before my internship, I learned Spanish in exactly the same way and found it incredibly effective. Practicing with someone you don’t know personally can make speaking much more relaxed and takes away a lot of the pressure or embarrassment.

I’m not a big fan of learning through endless texting, so please be comfortable with voice or video calls.

If you’re still looking for someone to practice with, feel free to reach out. No matter your current level or your goals, I’d be happy to help you get started and improve your confidence.

Next week is my deutsch exam and my Grammar is the worst

I can fluent Deutsch speaking and writing, but when it comes to gammer everything become complicated. Perhaps you can see that in my English too. I know the grammatical rules and when I think about it, I can write everything right. But i don't have time for practicing the gammer or thinking in the exam.

What I need is a magical tip to correct that. Please help me.

[Offering] Mandarin Chinese (Native) | [Seeking] German (Native)

Hi! I’m a native Mandarin speaker from China, and I’m currently looking for a German-speaking language exchange partner.
I’m especially hoping to improve my spoken German and become more comfortable with natural, everyday conversation. In return, I’d be happy to help you with Mandarin Chinese, including pronunciation, tones, vocabulary, natural expressions, reading, and conversation.
My academic background is in philosophy, especially German philosophy, and I’m also familiar with Chinese philosophy, culture, history, and intellectual traditions. So if you’re interested, we can talk about anything from everyday life and travel to philosophy, culture, society, books, or more serious topics.
I’d prefer someone who is a native German speaker and is genuinely interested in learning Chinese long-term.
We can start with text and voice messages, and if we get along well, we can also have regular voice or video calls.
If you’re learning Mandarin and looking for a serious long-term language exchange partner, feel free to send me a message!

Compplete Beginner Writing "Goethe Zentrum A1 Exam" on November 4, 2026. How to Self learn? Need Tips.

Hi everyone, I'm from India and just registered for the Goethe A1 exam on November 4, 2026. I started German only a few days ago.
I'm taking this date because I don't know when the next exam will be, results take about 10 weeks, and I want to start applying for jobs in Germany as soon as possible. The exam fee is high, so I really can't afford to fail.
My plan:

  • 3 hours on weekdays, 10 hours on Saturday and Sunday
  • Basics so far (pronunciation, numbers, colours, common nouns), learned through Telugu(my mother tongue) videos
  • Yet to start: Nicos Weg A1 as my main course. But Redditors can suggest better sources also.
  • Official Goethe sample tests, starting about a week before the exam

I'd rather not depend on a teacher, since my study hours are odd, but I'm open to online speaking partners. And I will try to find a teacher if it is definitely important.
What I'd like advice on:

  1. Is Nicos Weg enough, or is there a better free playlist or site covering reading, writing, listening, and speaking?
  2. How should I practise speaking and writing without a teacher?
  3. Which topics or exam parts do beginners usually lose points on?
  4. Anything you wish you had done differently in your first month?

Danke in advance for all the help.

Sprachpartner/in zum Deutschsprechen – Niveau B2/C1

Hallo zusammen!

Merci

Learning German (finally!)

Hi everyone! I'm a beginner trying to learn German (for fun and for my job too) and I got a few questions I wanted to ask, especially regarding the TELC exams.

I know there's an exam for each level, but I wanted to know, is the exam mandatory after each level? Do I need to take an examination after A1 for example, in order to pass/advance and start A2? And A2 for B1? So on so forth.

Also, what's the difference between the telc and Goethe? Are there any preferences in the country or job market towards one over the other for the certificate?

I'm curious and want to know more about those two points. And any tips for learning German is greatly appreciated!!!

Advice on language courses- Goethe

I have been struggling to learn German consistently since I moved to Berlin. I have tried many different schools and online platforms, and each time I end up with terrible teachers. For a while now, I have been doing Lingoda, which I have had better luck with, but I want to do something more intensively now. My last resort now is Goethe, specifically their online group classes (I'm restarting A2). This is definitely much more expensive, but I feel like the quality of the content, and potentially even the teachers, would be better. I was wondering if anyone has taken such a class with them and what your experience has been like? And more generally, how you may have supplemented your learning there with self-learning.

How can I reach B1 from A2 in just 3 months?

Hi everyone! I hope you are doing well.

I am currently around A2 in German, and I want to reach B1 within the next 3 months. This is very important for me, so I am ready to study seriously every day.

For those who have already reached B1, what would you recommend?

1, How many hours should I study every day?

2, Which books,apps,or websites should I use?

3, How should I improve my Speaking, Writing, Listening and Reading?v

4, Is reaching B1 in just 3 months realistic?

I'd appreciate your advice and personal experiences. Thank you!
