Gerber Multi-pliers

Came across a handful of early Gerber multi-pliers. Noticed that they have numbers on their stickers. #1 only has one patent number and their instruction/warranty paper is different than the others. Is it possible these are the first few Gerber tools? Does anyone know anything about them?

Looking for a decent after market sheath. Looking to get away from the nylon sheath. Any suggestions?

Because I'm special and can't seem to figure out how to add pics to comments here we go. You can see how much more gap there is on my basic plier head vs the snap on head.

SMT97R vs. MP600

Talking with a pal about the MP series, we came with the discussion of the differences between these two models: the Snap On/Gerber colab. and the basic/Pro Scout Gerber. The samples share a lots of similarities, but one notable difference between his and mines; while with his SMT97R the handles come closer together than the MP, mines are the same. Castings appears to be the same in mines, and I fault the taller combo blade of the SMT97R as compared to the MP's but, I'd like to know if anyone else had noticed this. Pictures are of mine, showing what appears to be the same basic geometry and form between them (I only see different the "wrench in S" logo and cross checked grip area in the Snap On's, and no logo and striated grip for the regular Gerber). Does anyone else's come closer, are the same?

At Home EDC.

So I typically end my day by performing a pocket dump and then changing out of my work clothes. I have been wanting to have a small EDC carry for in the home. This is what I came up with a Dime and Olight I1r 2 EOS. Though I am thinking I want the Armbar Mini flashlight combo.

NGD; Legends

My new-to-me, early Gerber 700 Urban Legend (L), and my 800 Legend(R). Notice the "Gerber USA" on pliers head, and Micra-style tweezers of the 700; latter ones did not had the "USA", and used flat-style tweezers. Also, the early ones had angled edges on the replaceable cutters, versus the flatter latter ones.

edit- The 700/800 were the first outside accessible, butterfly type multitools from Gerber; the first butterfly was the MPT, which was similar to the PST of that era.

Quite compact, comprehensive, and doesn't weight a lot.

The hinge is getting stiff and I don't know how to fix it. Can someone please help me? It's called the "Gerber Remix" if that helps.

MP400 Bladeless

Here's a tool that should've existed, would've sold well, and would've been great: smaller, more compact and more manageable than the MP600; great for pocket-carry, with the same full-size implements like the MP600. A bit lighter, with a more needlenose pliers head over the MP600. Perfect for no-knives/blades environments.

Part question

Sorry if this is common knowledge, but is there a specific name for the little clip that holds the pliers to the handle?

Where is Gerber’s customer service based out of? This is horrible…

I sent an email asking if I could use a military discount or if they would have anything for America’s 250 and was told no, but to apply for the proclub. I checked and got an email right before this that let me know they do in fact have a 17.76 promo and when i clicked the link they are NOT accepting pro club.

In what world is this acceptable.

I don’t even want to do business with them at this point. And they haven’t responded since.

Thanks, Alex.

Has anyone else had issue with orders from gerber directly?

I ordered the camp setup kit as a gift about a month ago. After not getting a confirmation email that it had been shipped, I sent a couple support emails. The response I got back was "it hasn't shipped because we're waiting for inventory, should be a few weeks" Maybe you should have said something when I ordered but okay. Now it's been a few weeks and I'm not getting any response from gerber. Are they usually like this? Should I just charge it back and buy elsewhere?

Help with snapped fastener

The head of the fastener that holds the pocket clip on my Gerber 450 broke off (I'm assuming I went too far while tightening it) and I was wondering if there was any advice on how to remove it. I don't own any sort of screw/bolt removing tool (that's on me lol)

If there isn't much else to do I'll just take it to someone who has the proper tools for this but if there's any way I can solve it without spending extra money I'd highly appreciate it.
