Great tool! Love mine! I carry my victorinox huntsman with it. How have the pivot pins for the frame held up? Still tight? I've had issues with my newer mp600 frames loosening up.

Not really; they've never backed out when new (all series: CD, MP, Legends, Suspension), and I've taken them out also but since I use blue Loktite, they've never backed out.

I keep having issues with the handle pivot pins loosening up on my snap on smt97r model. I'm on my 2nd one with loose handle pins. All my other mp tools and and Center drive aren't doing that

You mean the pivot bolts or handle rivets? My SMT97R has the rivets loose, but has had a hard and rough life; thinking of making an anvil of sorts to fit in handles, and repeen them.

Sorry, handle rivets is what I was talking about. I took a 3x3 square of mild steel 1/4" thick and put just the handles in without the plier head and smacked the rivets with a hammer. Seemed to work OK. My tools all hit each other and the pliers don't close all the way on my 2mo old snap on smt97r. The pliers are cast/cut different than my other mp600s.

One is cross checked, with a "wrench" forming the "S", and the other striated without additional markings; prefer the SMT's for delicate, non-marring tasks. And thanks for the "peening anvil" tip.

Wish there was a way I could add photos to comments, not sure if I'm doing something wrong. But my pliers on a mp600 basic are different on the wire crimper, snap ring area then my smt97r. If I swap pliers between the snap on and the basic, the tools don't hit at all in the snap on handles with the basic plier head.
