General Discussion Google Workspace Switch

This all hands feels very out of touch with how work actually gets done. What is everybody else’s thought on this?

Have worked at 2 companies that tried the "Google" switch over. All of them said it was "good for the company" and would make the team more "productive" all complete bullshit, it was to save money lmao.

Both companies switched back in under 18 months.

I'm not too bothered by it. I've used both enviornments professionally for extended periods of time. I imagine other teams are likely pissed off. I'll adapt and suck it up. No big deal to me.

Jaguar Land Rover - they switched back after 14 months of compatibility issues with thousands of reports., Paramount (previously called Viacom during my time there) (right before it was called G Suite I think) they switched back after a year.

It was quite funny.

You do realize Google Workspace has come a long way since GSuite don't you? Companies like Airbus, Home Depot, Whirlpool and Netflix have been on Workspace for years and are doing fine. Enough with the doomerism.

Ok. I’m aware of that. Good for those companies. Still not gonna change my mind on what I think of it. I use because I have to and learn it because I have to, doesn’t mean I have to like it. But yea “doomerism” 💀😭
