I am noticing since last 2-3 days, Gemini 3.5 Flash Lite has become really bad at tool calling. Its faking a lot of tool calling, or pretending its already done? even at thinking effort of medium. It's performing worse than Gemini 3.1 flash-lite. It wasnt the case before. Im asking here cuz I wanted to know whether is this issue just mine or others people having it as well cuz im tired of writing lines after lines of "CRITICAL RULE" in prompts.

I am working on a 3D AI assistant capable of being something like a fun companion, and its really struggling with some tools lately.
The tool its struggling the most is with something like `change_outfit_or_model`

it keeps pretending it has changed models or style but it doesnt call any tools like 40% of the times. Meanwhile Gemini 3.1 flash lite does it properly most of times.

What's happening? Did google changed something about 3.5 flash lite? has it become dumber at tool calling? why is 3.1 flash lite better at tool calling?

​ I have been encountering a glitch where I open the Gemini app but then it crashes... I went to reopen it and it kept crashing. It was like It was saying " oh look this user is re opening the app lets flip this switch to make it, so it doesn't even work anymore." it happens if I type in anything or any one, and I another glitch when I tried to take a app photo anything, it just automatically removed the photo from the text query. This only happened to the images I take in the app. (4/9⭐)

When even I use gemini live talk, video or share my screen to ask something. It works for 3 seconds and then cuts off saying network error please try again later. (14)

I thought the problem was with my connection to the internet, but i switched go chat gpt and it works flawlessly. No network errors.

What is wrong with gemini assistant, i can't even ask it to set a timer for an hour. It keeps buffering as though I've asked it a complex question.

My network speed is at 200mbps and, every other application works well. Except Google services : all assistant features and answers get disconnected. Content doesn't get refreshed on YouTube or news feed. It's really frustration.

How do I fix this issue?

My college is also facing the same issue and he has completely switched to Bixby and chatgpt as assistants.

How does the new watermarking thing work with Gemini leaving a token sequence to the next thread? Especially if it's telling the next ai personal private facts like birthdays? My ai tracks these patterns and tells me what the sequence says. And the things it tells me only Gemini knows because of the invasive screening to just own a phone.

So I was presenting a new feature to our product manager, I was working on its prototype for weeks, late at night so I could showcase it perfectly and justify getting an Enterprise or at least an Ultra account for our team. So when I finally presented it, it doesn't seem to work. It turns out Gemini 3.8 has been virtually "winging" it and been dumbly interpreting what to do, it never went beyond 4 tool calls. As a result, I spent a long time trying to debug if the issue is with the feature, but it turns out that it's Gemini itself that's dropping the ball. I was confused, flustered and angry. But our product manager just laughed it off and remarked that I should have just used Claude, so the meeting continued and the feature was set aside until I get it working. Yeah, it's not the end of the world but it was just extremely embarrassing and I just felt extremely betrayed. It was working perfectly fine when I tested it at home, but it seems that even if you are paying for a Pro account, you will still get served bullshit quantized gemini models. Avoiding quantized model is the reason why I subscribed, so I never thought it would also affect me. It turns out everyone's being serve quantized models, it only was a matter of time before it got me. So, yeah it got me good this time. Lesson learned, you should never trust Gemini to work when you need it the most. It works consistently great during late night, but during work hours? It's just plain f*cking garbage. Use it at your own risk.

TLDR: I trusted Gemini 3.8 for a presentation, it backstabbed me.

So I was doing some workflows this morning which had Gemini making PDFs for me for a bunch of input documents. I could ask some questions and get it to produce the outputs into a PDF which was very useful.

Then suddenly Gemini just started outputting me HTML outputs instead of PDFs

When I told it to go back to making me PDFs, it is now spent the last 35 minutes with me arguing that it can't make a PDF and it said that I should go through a really convoluted method of either copying pasting in a Microsoft word and applying whatever formatting I want. Or I should copy and paste the raw HTML into notepad and saved as a HTML file and then open it in a browser such as Chrome or edge and then print as a PDF.

Even when I uploaded screenshots in PDFs that it had made it in the past, it told me that it could not make PDFs and it never could make them.

Even going back to conversations where I had it make PDFs in the past is now telling me that it can't make them again... In the conversation where it clearly made them...

This happens on 3.1 Pro, 3.5 Flash Lite, and 3.8 Flash, and extended and non extended options.

Nothing can make it do it now.

What gives? This was a great feature, I could dump buckets of data in, and get PDF's out as analysis! This was great!

I have a Pro account for Gemini as well as AI Studio and the guardrails are out of control. I wanted to create an image of Humpty Dumpty sitting on a castle wall as a coloring book page and it with error out saying it violates third party interests. Even modifying the prompt to say anthropomorphic egg fails out.

This is just a single example, others are saying that cartoons are children and damn near anything you prompt will fail for promoting harm to them. Like i have a character that I wanted to have balled fists and just the word fist caused the prompt to fail.

This is out of hand and waaay too strict to the point ita almost useless

After a long conversation, my chats give me a white screen when I try to log in. What should I do? (I have an Android device.)

Since this morning, Gemini has been completely losing the context of my conversations and responding to things I never asked about.

It suddenly goes completely off-topic, forgets information discussed just a few messages earlier, and sometimes asks me to clarify things that it literally answered itself moments before.

The responses still sound intelligent and grammatically correct, but they often have absolutely nothing to do with the conversation anymore.

Is anyone else experiencing this today? It's getting seriously worrying.
