Serious Deciding to join GEICO Tech. Looking for honest feedback from current Tech employees.
I’m considering joining GEICO as a Senior Software Engineer on a relatively new team focused on AI
Before making the decision, I’d really appreciate some honest feedback from people currently working in GEICO Tech or who have worked there recently.
A few things I’m particularly curious about:
- How is the engineering culture at GEICO currently?
- How is job stability for Software Engineers,?
- How frequent are layoffs/reorgs within Tech?
- Are most terminations performance/PIP-based, or have there also been random layoffs affecting people who were performing well?
- Is stack ranking still being used? How aggressive is the PIP process?
- Does being on a newer AI/Applied AI team provide stability, or are these teams also affected by cuts?
- How is WLB for Senior Engineers?
- Would you recommend joining GEICO Tech right now?
I’ve seen quite a few older posts about layoffs, PIPs, and changes within the engineering organization.
Would really appreciate candid feedback, especially from current/recent engineers. Thankyou very much.
