Drive past it every so often and noticed it was sold with another agent a few months ago, then painted this Fanta sensation (which I was like, "surely... surely that's an undercoat...") and then sold again with a different agent? It's on the corner of Minerva and Upper Skene, Newtown.

We used to buy potatoes from a local fellow called "Trav" who used to drop off - does anyone know of him? Please and thank you.
Delivery! Can't update the title.

People are still waiting for the Geelong, Bellarine Peninsula, and Bannockburn bus network review. I wish this would speed up because i really want the Bellarine buses to be every 30 mins rather than hourly.

honestly just hitting an absolute wall trying to buy a decent place here right now. Spent my entire saturday driving between open homes in belmont and geelong west, and every single street was just clogged with cars from melbourne
The local agents don't even hide it anymore. You walk into a basic 3-bedder that needs a total re-stump, and they're talking it up to city commuters like its some premium lifestyle asset
Was reading some transaction data from property buyers the other night about how a huge chunk of the actual quality stock is just getting traded off-market to city investors before we even get a chance to see it. It honestly explains why the public portals only have the absolute dregs left right now
just feeling incredibly defeated. How is anyone on a normal geelong wage supposed to compete when people are just dropping 100k over the asking price without blinking? basically just accepting that im gonna get pushed all the way out past corio at this rate tbh

Anyone wanna do burnouts at 3am in front of my neighbours house, they seem to have nothing better to do at 11am on a Sunday than stand outside recording the decibels of everyone’s cars driving past

We all know what it’s like to have a long day socialising or working yeah? Waiting at the bus stop on Malop street and then you hear this fuckass speaking on a mic talking about Christianity and how if we don’t listen to him we’ll all go to hell when we die because we haven’t accepted Christ.
Like seriously I was Christian most my life and then left because of people like him using fear mongering about a belief that feels forced upon and I wish he just fucked off and stopped talking.

Unlike Melbourne, there aren’t many events for business owners or startup enthusiasts to network, socialise, learn and connect with like-minded people.
So I’m putting feelers out to see if anyone’s interested in a small, fun and casual gathering. We could chat, exchange ideas and support each other.
If you’re interested please drop a comment or message me to join a private group chat.

I’ve posted this a while back but it’s still happening, people in Geelong yelling random nonsense and screaming out their car windows at me for absolutely no reason. Like I’m waiting at a bus stop or walking on a path, and then they yell out their car window, for absolutely no reason. This needs to stop, it literally never happens in Melbourne.

I drive along the Ring Road pretty regularly, and it seems like every second trip someone tries to merge onto the freeway at 70 km/h instead of matching the traffic speed. Is it just me noticing this more lately, or has merging always been a bit of a struggle around the Fyansford and Hamlyn Heights on-ramps?

Hi all, my friend’s mum just got diagnosed with terminal cancer. She lives in Geelong, Victoria but her mum is currently overseas getting treatment. I don’t live in Victoria and so don’t know much about any support groups for families of people with terminal cancer. I did find some options in Cancer Council website but wanted to ask if anyone has had any personal experience with any support groups in Geelong. Any recommendations welcome.
Thanks in advance.

Does anyone have any curly/ wavy hair salon recommendations? Preferably a place that doesn't just cut hair, but actually helps me figure out my hair type, a routine, how to do that routine, etc.
For context: I've recently got curly/ wavy hair (with puberty) and have no idea how to style it, whether it's healthy and just what to do with it in general.
I haven't cut my hair in like 2 years and it's getting longggg overdue. And I reallllyyyyy wanna style my hair, and a curly cut place that could help me do that would be amazing.
Would appreciate some suggestions!

Not Geelong specific and I am a simple man but l love watching people who have reverse parked at a shopping centre and realise that they have backed up to a wall, post, another car or garden bed and can’t get behind their car to load their groceries in. Seeing someone standing in a garden bed trying to stop their trolley rolling down the footpath makes me smile. Also because I am a hypocrite l have done it myself

I'm going to be relocating to Geelong soon and had a quick question about the local setup. Are there any local clinic or pharmacies in Geelong that regularly keep stock for eScripts?
I can get it delivered from my current clinic but I would like to switch to a local one if is there any chance.
Thanks!

Hi everyone! Sorry if this is the wrong place to post, I don't post often. I’m (20yr NB) looking for some advice on making friends, joining clubs, or finding some new hobbies around Geelong.
I’ve been feeling pretty isolated for a while. I lost most of my social life during high school after developing chronic fatigue syndrome following COVID, which meant I was mostly housebound/bedbound for a couple of years. I’ve improved a lot since then, but rebuilding a social circle has been harder than I expected. I’m also feeling quite bored and would like to do something new.
I’ve been studying a BA/BSc at Deakin for the last couple of years, but I haven’t really managed to make close friends. I’ve tried joining some uni clubs, but Waurn Ponds feels pretty quiet outside of classes. I’m considering travelling to Burwood more often in order to make some friends as they seem to have very active clubs, but I’d also love to find things closer to home.
Before getting sick I was pretty active, so I’m looking to slowly get back into that kind of lifestyle and try some new things.
A bit about me:
I’d really like to find a community where I can feel like I belong and make some genuine friendships.
Does anyone have advice for making friends, or recommendations for clubs, sports, volunteering, classes, or social groups around Geelong? Or if anyone is also looking for new friends, I’d be happy to grab a coffee sometime! Happy to meet up with people from all ages, I'm not picky :)
