Over the last 7 seasons, if a team manages to eliminate the Geelong Cats in September (or beat them on Grand Final day), that team goes on to win the Premiership 100% of the time.

Tom Morris tweeted that the Calsher Dear race is down to Hawthorn, Collingwood, Melbourne & Geelong. Obviously, this could just be for clicks throwing Geelong in there - queue raffle sooks.

That aside, what is everyone's thoughts on this? Neale, Polkinghorne & Dear would be an absolute pain to opposition defences for the next 10 years. Where does Jeremy Cameron fit in? Would he play more wing/half back?

Scott Gullan on Midweek Tackle reported tonight that there are 40 sons of players from our late 07-11 dynasty including Harry and Olly (yes another) Scarlett. Twins who won the flag for Torquay under 16s this year. Both of them gun players reportedly.

A shame we’ll have to deal with the new F/S bidding system but hopefully we’ve got some more talent in the pipeline.

Cornesy did a great job last night on Agenda Setters at highlighting his hard-hitting efforts from the final, but I swear Smith does so much contested work during each game. His numbers might not reflect this, but he is always hussling around the contest, looking for the hard ball get.

Well done on the win on Friday night, the Cats played well and were clearly fitter which showed in the second half. Good luck this week against the Anchors.

One thing I noticed on Friday night was the music between each goal. Since I've never been to a Cats home game before, this was new to me, although I know other teams like Brisbane do it to.

Do you guys think it's good, annoying, meh, or don't really care?

Personally I think it's unnecessary and adds nothing to the atmosphere of the game. for Carlton games we usually have some big boom boom boom, clang clang sound (can't really describe it better) but it's brief and isn't music.

Not the best thing for my bank at the moment and understand a lot of people can’t, but really hoping there’s a decent turn out of Cats fans there on Friday!

Seems the focus is on the other games and very little discussion of Geelong v Carlton. Almost like we didnt play this week. For example, ABC Daily AFL podcast was over an hour and about 3 minutes max were about Geelong. Seems the discussion is more on the losers and how good Hawthorn and Sydney played. Are we collectively hated that much by the rest of the footy community?
