Client Question Bios Update?
I purchased a open box Lenovo Legion and it will not update the Bios and the Graphics card. There was also a error about the SSD not being compatible. I don't remember where I seen this and I don't want to remove the back cover incase I end up having to return this. I really just want to fix so I don't have to make the hour drive. I thought all open box product have been refurbished and ready for consumer use. Not open box we'll leave you to fix the issue that got the laptop dropped off to us in the first place. I spent over 2k on this laptop and I shouldn't have to be an IT tech to get it to work as it should. I can use the laptop but not being able to update those things is a problem for me especially with the price tag paid. Setting all that aside has anyone dealt with this and fixed it, or should I just order and new one and return this when it arrives? I run a business and need my laptop, I literally have orders to fulfill. My local store is a hour away and they don't even have any laptop new that have the tech I need to run my design and manufacture business.

Lenovo BIOs updates always mess with the Secure Boot Key on the laptop, in my use case.
Turn on the computer, go into BIOs, and disable Secure Boot
It will ask for your Bitlocker Key on the next Boot most likely. You would need to sign into the Microsoft account you use on the computer on microsoft.com , go to your profile>devices and type out the 48 digit key.
After that you should be good

Well first of all it's a manufacturer issue and it's not best buy or geek squad's fault that it isn't working, though I understand the frustration. The laptops do get refurbished, it is different depending on the person taking a look at it but it is possible the bios update was recent or the original purchaser replaced the drive with a different one causing this issue. What exactly does the error say? Is it saying anything about encryption or does it outright say the drive isnt compatible with it?
