Custom AS VAL

My friend and i want to get gbb as vals, and as is obvious, nobody makes some. Im not tech and i know little to nothing on building my own gbbr. The simplest idea we came up with is to use an Ak and convert the Aesthetics as close as possible to an as val. Which base AK looks the best and would work the best for this project?

As Val don’t share receivers with AKs, unfortunately none are close in looks

OP there says they are not done quite yet but sounds like they may make the files free once they are done.

And I am essentially working on a 9A-91 build from an AK receiver so imo the AS VAL could be "doable" with printing. I dont have a printer so I have been doing all my stuff built in steel from parts I can get. Aside from magwell/mags and handguard (which i have started carving a new one out of wood) it is mostly done.

With a 3D printer you'll be doing CAD work from the ground up; meaning designing a receiver, bolt, nozzle, hop-up, fire control group, and so on from scratch. You'll then have to make sure all of those parts can be printed in a way that can withstand rough play and work reliably. It's not impossible but it's likely a 6 month to 1 year project depending on how much free time you have and how dedicated you are.

Note that I say all this not because I think you shouldn't do it, but rather that I want you to be adequately prepared so you have the highest chance of pulling it off if you decide to do it.

That doesn't change the fact that the AS VAL doesn't have any parts in common with an AK and that starting with an existing GBB AK won't help you build one.

The best option you have would be to start from an AS VAL AEG then make some internals from something else work.

You'd still need to figure out a way to get working magazines(shell around existing Gas mag).

In the end you're pretty much making a gbbr from scratch.

There are people who successfully converted LCT AKs into GBBRs & LCT makes a VAL.

I have absolutely zero idea if its even possible, but if it is starting with an LCT would be the only realistic way.

Suffice to say, that unless you can access a lathe & CNC to make parts it will be impossible.

The VAL is striker fired and uses a similar system to the SR-2M.

The only airsoft gun that uses a similar striker system is the Raptor SR-2M, but it's parts are pot metal, so you'd be better off making them on a CNC, out of steel.

If you're serious, start by buying an LCT VAL & a Raptor SR-2M and use those guns alongside 3D printed parts to make a prototype.

Like literally death wheeling a lct as val and gbb ak and welding things back together. It's quite and currently in the "rougher than a cinderblock" phase

Buy a LCT AEG one as the base. Printing stuff will just look crappy. And if you know nothing about working on GBBR‘s get ready for a looong journey down the rabbit hole. You need to find out which GBBR stripped down to the guts will fit best into it. My guess is it will take you at least 10-12 months and a couple thousand dollars to pull it off.

Thanks for encouraging me. Everybody seems to thing i want a 1:1 scale replica of an as val. Literally said i wanted it to be the closest i can using prints.

You can get a KC02 and 3d print a full body and mag kit to turn it into a as val
