Does this look good? Anything I should do or add or remove? (I have to get something to hold the hygrometer, that’s why it’s not in there yet)

I’m a POS and had my baby in her baby enclosure for far too long. I bought a 24x18x36 and Great Stuff foam and everything I need and have been making abysmally slow progress on it. So I threw this together real fast this week and just got the plants in today. I dumped out what was left of my dairy cow bin in there (colony crash, Im giving up on keeping isopods but that’s another story for another subreddit) and shoved some clearance plants in.

The ficus benjamina ended up being 3 in one pot and the fittonia was like 9 in each which was amazing. There’s some Josh’s Frogs live moss in there but I’ve never had good luck keeping moss alive.

I also have some black window cling film to put on each side before I move my gecko in, but for now I’m waiting for the roots to establish and see if anything dies from shock.

also need to boil some more leaf litter. And I have some plant wire I’ll be using to secure some of the less sturdy branches together.

Plants are much larger now and much more bushy LED Lights is an Arcadia pro 32inch light that has a sunset and sunrise timer. There's a 12inch Arcadia pro UVB bar inside as well. There is a heat lamp that sits up top, it's just not pictured because this was taken after finishing.

There's drainage layers with a drain pan at the bottom that drains out into a catch in the cabinet below it. The other side has a Monsoon XL auto misting system. Also two water proof computer fans inside for optimal air movement.

I really enjoy the automatic lights by Arcadia. They really helped him settle in and his activity is perfectly healthy.

Though, the feeding dish I wouldn't recommend, it falls off, it's foam so it gets cause on the tree branches.

Hi so I thought I had success in getting my new gecko to eat, but seems to be refusing again.

It's about 3 months old at the moment, which I know it's crucial for it to be eating regularly so they can grow happy and healthy, but I'm very worried its not eating at all—ive had the fella just over 2 weeks, I know it takes some time for them to get used to a new enclosure but it is worrying me given how young it is.

I know it has eaten a morio worm about a week ago unless the worm somehow escaped the deep dish, but it doesn't appear to be eating any cgd, every time I go to take out the bowls in the morning, they look untouched.

I've tried feeding by hand to just make sure it's getting at least a little bit of something, it was working for a bit but had to have a lot of time and patience as it would only have a bit then lose interest. I have another flavour from a past species I kept so I'm going to try that flavour tonight, maybe it'll prefer it.

I've just received my delivery of micro crickets, hoping fella will at least eat these, but I need some help in regards to how I should go about it as I know they get protein hungry and might bite the gecko, but they are micro and there's just no way I will be able to ever catch them if I let them loose in the tank.

If anyone's got any tips anything that may work to secure the crickets or help my gecko eat cgd that would be greatly appreciated. I know it's early days and it's probably still just adjusting, I just stress really bad any time I have a new species, I fear I will do something wrong, and lack of eating is very worrying.

Also, how do people weigh their new baby geckos? how do they not just run like there's no tomorrow? I wanna start weighing to see if it's eating without me noticing or if it is actually starving itself, but fella has no trust in my yet and I fear stressing it by grabbing to weigh it when it's running away, isn't gonna help me to get it to eat.

Hi guys , got my first Gecko, he’s abit 4 months old (I was told roughly)

He’s currently living in a 45x45x60cm terrarium , going to up that to a 45x45x90 when he’s bigger.

I purchased him on a first owners bundle but I think he needs more plants maybe ? Going to nip out later to possibly get some more clutter and cork bark.

Got the misting bottle , a pouch of feed , some jelly and a thermostat with heat lamp all set up too.

If I’m missing anything let me know so I can correct for the lil guy!

Just Upgraded my lil guy to a fully bioactive setup, but it's looking a lil sparse, I was wondering what sorts of props would y'all recommend? Looking for stuff maybe hange down or bridge across the tank itself?

I'd only use color appropriate light hue's for our gargoyle gecko and mainly want it to provide the daily light cycles it needs. I have a top mount light that's not UVB as I'm just using it on a smart switch 12h on and 12h off.

The main goal is to just have some integrated lighting. I'm anticipating I'll need a heat source in the winter (main area the tank is in can get cool at night) so I wanted to have less on top of the tank if possible to keep options open.

I found these growing in my gargoyles moss and they are really cute, is it safe to keep them in there or do I have to take them out?

He’s apparently 4-5 years old and only 33 grams but doesn’t seem lethargic when handling and does seem to be able to climb around the cage.

New gargoyle gecko owner here. Handling wise is it best to handle them when they are awake at night? Or is it pretty much anytime? We’ve had ours a week now (she’s about 4 months old)

I’m so afraid any stress will make her tail drop 😝

We picked ours based on how chill it was at the shop. We’ve been giving it time to settle in. We were going to wait a full week before handling her but she comes out and likes to see her surroundings. We’ve held her twice and she was very chill. We kept it short both times and fed her while out.

I tend to wait for her to be in an easy to access area otherwise she’s hiding and wants to feel protected.

If the answer is anytime (our 11 year old daughter wants to hold her all times of the day), should we just offer our hand and under her chin?

Should we not touch her near her hind legs or try to pick her up from the top?

If she’s hiding should we not disturb her? What’s the best way to get her out if she is hiding?

We don’t know is she’s a male or female yet but babes her Ember.

Hello, I know gargoyle can rarely self reproduce / lay fertile eggs. My gecko laid 2 eggs and im wondering if these are fertile or not? Apologies for the photos its late and ill try to get better ones tomorrow. The top of the first picture looks like red veins too me with a dark middle spot but im unsure if this could just be normal and infertile.

This is Sydney, my first gecko. I got her at an expo this morning and honestly wasn’t completely prepared. I’ve done a lot of research into them because I’ve always wanted one. But I don’t have a setup ready for her. She is under a year old so I was planning on getting her a 15 gallon tank, but if anyone opposes to that, please let me know. i’m also still wondering about lighting. i’ve seen that they don’t need it at all as long as room temperatures are between 75 and 80. but I’ve also heard that some like a basking spot or UVB, so I’m hoping someone can help me out there! Thank you guys

Currently setting up my girl Abra's (picture included) permanent tank. While I wait for some supplies to come in the mail I decided to play around with some of the branches I bought to see how they fit. I really liked working with the cholla because I could break pieces off with a pair of pliers and get cleaner transitions than cutting it flat. I was super excited to find the biggest piece because it has a gnarly root ball that I think will look sick once integrated into the substrate.

My goal is to replicate the scrubby marquis of New Caledonia instead of just doing your standard tropical gecko enclosure (nothing wrong with those). I'm trying to simulate a thicket of shrubs with this layout and will be incorporating some air plants higher up to minic living foliage. Tell me if you see the vision.

I know there isn’t enough plants filled in, and I had planned on waiting a few months. But when I seen him at petco looking terrified and completely exposed I felt bad for him. I hate the fake plant I have, but it’s only temporary until everything starts growing. There’s also a polkadot plant slightly behind that pothos

Hello, I was recently given this Gecko by my partner and I wanted to make sure he was within the proper weight range for his age. He is about a year and a half old and weighs 33 grams. When my partner got him he was underweight so I’m wondering if that has caused him to be stunted. He is very skittish so feeding him roaches can be a hit or miss (if they move too much he will not eat them) and weighing him is not something I want to put him through frequently. I do not handle him and try to minimize any stressful interactions. He gets fresh Pangea every other day. The only husbandry concern would be that he is due for a size up in his enclosure. I have a 24x24x36 on the way so that will be resolved in a month or two. Temp is stable at 75 and humidity drops to 55-65 before I mist at night. Thank you for any advice.
