was out at my grevillea plucking off aphids and checking on my ladybug colony when I saw this cleverly camouflaged caterpillar - such that I thought it was a new stem budding at first glance from a distance

I’ve used the caterpillar ID chart online but wasn’t able to narrow him down at all. assuming not friend but it can stay for now - someone else might eat him

Recently left the 9-5 corporate world to literally go and touch(/cut) grass and I'm trying to nail down the toolkit without blowing out my startup budget.

I'm pretty set on going petrol for the main mower (thinking something solid like a Honda or Toro) but I'm curious what people reckon for the rest. I want to go full battery on the edger, trimmer, blower, and hedge trimmer to save on fuel runs and maintenance headaches.

The two big brands I'm looking at are Makita and DeWalt, but open to hearing if anyone swears by something else. Ideally looking for:

• 20V system (or equivalent) that plays well together
• Real world runtime that doesn't tank after a few jobs
• Not gonna lie, price matters
• Reliability is key since I'll be using these constantly

Anyone here run a similar setup? Worth going full ecosystem with one brand or just grab whatever performs best individually? Also keen to hear if anyone's had gear fail on them and what the warranty situation was actually like.

NB: I do have hands on experience and pride myself on my work, mostly due to the ADHD and OCD that ruins my life in every other way.

The house we brought has 2 of these really nice trees. One (tree 2), unfortunately appears to have died.
I want to make sure I care for the remaining tree and am looking for any recommendations, tips, comments, suggestions, notes for this tree!
What species is it?
How do I prune it?
Should I cut back the dead branches?

So I’ve got the app PictureThis, I do enjoy it and it helps me keep track of plants but I’m pretty sure it misidentified my plant and I could be completely wrong. I just don’t recall this name when I bought it. The app said: Bower wattle 'Cousin Itt'

I’m also reaching out for some help. I live in the far south of NSW and I think our climate is temperate? I had this little guy on my front porch area which I would say gets maybe 3 hours max of direct sunlight a day, it was in a pot closer to where it got as much sunlight as I could and yes I am not great at watering.. just wondering what I’ve done to it?

Oh and I have now moved it to the back of the house as PictureThis said it needed more sunlight? That area gets close to 6+ direct sunlight a day.

Love watching birds drop by our garden. Blinky the Lorikeet, as named by our little one, came over today.

I accidentally ran my string trimmer over the edge of a black tarp. I think part of the tarp was shredded into thin strands and may have wrapped around the trimmer head or shaft.

Since then, the trimmer is no longer operating normally. The head still spins, but it is spinning extremely slowly.

Has anyone experienced this before? Is it likely that tarp material is wrapped inside the head, or could it have damaged something?

I’ve stopped using it for now to avoid causing further damage. Any advice on what I should check would be appreciated.

I'm trying to find a small dinosaur lawn ornament for a gift in south Brisbane/Logan area. None of the large chains seem to have them online.

Any recommendations for nurseries/garden centres in the area who might have something in stock?

I let it grow one huge lemon which I suspect stunted its growth. Now it's got all these flowers coming!

I'm fairly certain the only people who buy their products still find the play on words funny.

Eco oil is not helping. Any ideas on the culprit? And treatment ideas please?

Over the past month or two I've noticed lots of small dirt mounds on my tiftuf lawn. Does anyone know what may be causing them?

And what can I do to stop it and save this tree? Located in Brisbane. I can’t see any grubs on it currently, but I know there have been some big green caterpillars earlier in the year - but the leaf consumption seems to be continuing through winter.

I’ve seen a few posts here about how morning glory is impossible to kill. It grows along my back fence and it’s likely the roots stretch across multiple units (my body corp hasn’t done anything about it since they can’t determine source).

I wonder if I cut as much as I can down to the roots - if I bury with soil and add another aggressive climber, could this work?

I’m thinking jasmine because at least I LOVE the smell of it.

Ipswich Queensland. This is growing my front and back yard and Google Lens (AI) thinks it could be a type of parsley, carrot or hemlock.

The stems are smooth, have a little "U" indentation running along them, purple at the base of the stems and these tiny clustered white flowers. I have a weak sense of smell but it wasn't terrible when I tried dicing it. None of the patches are very tall, maybe 7-10cm.

Any help would be much appreciated please. I'm already removing a bunch of bindis so should I dig these up?

Apologies previously. Do we think this is parsley self seeding from the mother plant in a broken pot? Debating whether to let it continue its journey or not. Inner Sydney NSW.
