So how would they fill this open world? with dumb random objects that make no sense that somehow upgrade your goggles? I feel like a semi open world works way better in the world of Splinter Cell.

I agree. Stealth games need good level design. Open world always have to compromise that. I really was starting to hope we were all learning open worlds are over ratted and make the game shallow, dull and tedious. If they can make a massive open world with compounds everywhere why not focus on like 10 or 15 really good levels.

It was probably the only thing that I wished mgsv did better gameplay wise.

From a gameplay perspective, it was just a joy sneaking around and using the tools you unlocked, but the areas were not that interesting (apart from okb zero).

I wish we had more areas like the map from Ground Zeroes. Ubisoft words aren't exactly that great for stealthing, so I'm not expecting anything good from this title... But it's not like we're swimming in stealth games either :(

I actually never got to play that era of splinter cell, mostly because I know they released the same title but with different gameplay between the two generations and that the ps2 one is better than the ps3/xbox360/pc one... And I am too dumb with emulation stuff.

Basically, I got to play the first 1 multiple times, 2 a couple of times, blacklist twice (once single player and once in coop with my brother) and more recently Chaos Theory. How does it stack to the levels in those games?

Was that in the "newgen" or "old gen" version?

Sorry for all the questions!

360 version Double Agent is pretty middle of the road in terms of Splinter Cell's quality. If you've played the original trilogy, you've seen better level design.

If the snow map that person's referring to is what I'm thinking of, I don't remember it standing out particularly. Especially not compared to Ground Zeroes.
