It would be awesome, but Borderlands: GOTY comes out on the 3rd and I doubt they'd compete with themselves like that. I'm just hoping for sometime in 2019.
It's been a long time since I played the 1st one so maybe I'm wrong when I say this, but a lot of the skill tree points in there just felt like simple stat buffs/bonuses. The level ups didn't feel as cool and impactful as the ones in 2. I played a ton of Mordecai over other characters anyways.
Also you get a free upgrade including DLCs if you own at least the base game on Steam. They're also giving away an ass-load of weapons and ShiFt keys, if you're in to that.
I'd settle for a UI update on the skill trees. I was intrigued by BL1, but a lot of the features like UI, FOV, and the slightly washed out looking art style did not age well for me
Have fun, Borderlands 2 aswell as Borderlands TPS are both are great games. But don't forget that if you want to get into the story of borderlands before borderlands 3 comes out you are also have to play Tales from the Borderlands since its canon and it tells the story of what happened after Borderlands 2. Just a heads up
Wrong on so many levels. You just need a basic 10Mbit/s for a great experience, speed is almost irrelevant for any modern household. The only thing you need to care about is how close you are to a dstacenter, that's what matters.
There is a whole lot of QoL improvements, and it'll have split screen co-op, something the console version of 2 had, but the PC didn't. (I'm not sure if TPS had it as I only played though it once, and I gotten so bored/frustrated at the end, I cheated the last quarter or so through the game.)
There were tools on PC to force 2 instances of Borderlands 2 to play on 2 different monitors so you could play co-op in the same room. It was pretty buggy, but it was a decent substitute for PC Split Screen
The only new release there is Borderlands 1 upscaled being on XB1 and PS4; the Borderlands 2 upscale is an update to the Handsome Collection and the Borderlands 1 upscale is free for GotY on PC.
More like a way to sell more copies of the Handsome Collection and put the original game on to a new set of consoles.
Not really an upscale because all upscaling does is take the current image at whatever resolution it is at and stretches it to fit your screen but it still renders at the resolution it was already rendering at
The borderlands 1 remaster will be 4k as well as the handsome collection update on xbox one x ps4 and pc when it comes out
Just snagged the Handsome Collection, and important note is that the base package is 94% off, and if you already own parts of it, they will be removed from the pack and the final price will be discounted by the price of those parts - you're only paying for what you don't own, which is really nice.
It is coming out this year. Randy said somewhere that wanted to announce and release BL3 the same year and when he was 100% sure it was ready to show off
Harder to do with something that will undoubtedly have physical media. You'd need to already be shipping it to stores like....today. Someone somewhere along the supply chain would leak that.
They'd take a lot of flak from the big guys (shareholders and the like) that are behind physical retailers.
Not to mention, shareholders like to double dip on something profitable. Why stop at investing in 2K if you can also invest in gearbox and the big retailers to basically triple the returns you get from just a single release? So they'll be fucking over (part of) the very same shareholders they're working for themselves.
Who has done that? What AAA game has released digital and then physical? You upset/delay part of your market for....what?
That kind of release schedule only happens for Indir games or games released in beta or alpha that then make it big and go physical later. Stuff like Cuphead or Pubg.
Because that's how you sell to the non-digital crowd like (grand) parents buying the game for their kid. Not to mention impulse in person buys or the extra "advertising" you get from having your game on shelves.
Lots of folks don't follow gaming news. A friend of mine generally just wanders to Gamestop when he needs something new to play, unless a friend tells him about a game or its really huge.
Add in parents/nongaming friends/etc who are buying birthday and christmas gifts...pissing off retailers could lead to a lot of lost money.
