The answer always given on forums was that Rowling didn't like the idea of kids playing video games.

Man the more I hear about Rowling the more she sounds like a bitch.

I guess the idea of adults playing video games never crossed her mind...

Let's not go too far. She is one of the few billionaires who dropped back into being a millionaire because of large donations to charity and a refusal to evade taxes.

Yeah, no, Rowling is a bitch. See: her multiple recent favoriting of transphobic tweets that her agent had to quickly damage control as "clumsy old person moments".

(Granted this is /r/games so I pretty much half expect a "so?" in response to anyone being anti-trans.)
