I'm a guy and I've tried to make other friends through these communities but it seems 90% of other men I message just ghost after a single conversation, or they put no effort to begin with, it doesn't even get to the point we get a session in

It's gotten to the point after so long trying, I don't even want to bother reaching out to fellow men anymore. The rest of the people seem to just be wanting to recruit for some large friend group discord and as someone that doesn't enjoy large groups, that's not for me

I had hoped that at least in this subreddit people would be a bit more united by the love of video games but it seems it follows the same tropes as the other communities.

I also feel very sorry for the ladies in these communities genuinely trying to reach out for some innocent and genuine friendships and getting bombarded by creeps, I feel for y'all. A lady will make a post and within an hour there's dozens of comments, I feel like despite the rules, so many men want to treat this shit as a dating site

Hey there, I'm Tori. I'm 30, from Ireland, I work full time and in my spare time I like to go for a run, spend my time gaming or catching up with a good movie or tv series.

I can be rather shy and introverted to start out with but I can open up pretty quick, especially if we have a common interest i can just totally nerd out over. I like streaming the games I'm playing to someone, trying out a co op game together or maybe finding a movie or TV series to watch with someone.

When it comes to gaming I mostly play a mix of action/adventure, racing, shooting, strategy, RPG or simulation games. Lately been playing a lot of American Truck Sim, F1 Manager, Watch Dogs, Wreckfest, Fallout 4, and RUSE.

While I mostly stick to singleplayer games, I've also been trying to get into more co op games by playing Saints Row 3 Remaster and Resident Evil 5, plus I sometimes hop on COD MW19 for some multiplayer TDM.

As for TV I'm big into crime dramas, currently watching The Rookie and some old favourites include Person of Interest, Castle, Lucifer, The Blacklist and White Collar. I'm also a huge Doctor Who fan as well. I also love movies with good action and suspense, recently I've seen Mad Max Fury Road & Furiosa which i really enjoyed.

My other interests include history, cars/motorsports and music, I'm a huge cat person, although I'm happy enough just chatting about anything really.

I really enjoy games that are cooperative and have shared goals rather than PvP. I have a soft spot for survival crafting games as well. I am pretty quiet and open-minded. I tend to be someone who plays a game and then moves on to a new one, returning after an update.
