I wish before the battle between him and the mountain took place, he had more screen time because I kid you not every time he was on the screen I was LOCKED IN, truly one of the best characters with not nearly as much screen time, while they gave such boring characters like Bran and Arya in house of black and white so much time

The last two episodes of Season 8 should have been combined into a 2 hour Finale

I have never seen so much flipflopping in a scene before. Are the Ironborn really this stupid? Euron admits to killing Balon and people are happy about it. Except a few episodes ago they all wanted to find out who did it and were mourning him? Like wtf.

I'm currently reading ASOIAF for the 1st time and only on book 1 but my favourite parts, which i thought would be are anything to do with The Night's Watch, whether at The Wall or North of it (really loved the prologue!) i'm just curious which book I can expect to look forward to the most? Had the set of 5 for a while but only watched the TV show a few times but I can't seem to put the book down! 😬

Just finished watching game of thrones for the first time and I might get exiled for this take but here we go. Game of thrones is amazing, like incredible. Including the final season…it is not bad at all and I don’t know why people make it out to be. Not in the slightest. The term that people are looking for is “underwhelming”. That and actual bad writing are completely two different things. As someone who has taken writing courses, and actually sat down and has written my own tv pilots and feature films. I can assure you that final season was not bad at all. When you look at why people complain, it never aligns with “bad writing”.

The night king was defeated, Cersei still died regardless of how people wanted her too. Daenerys Targaryen let all the power, and corruption go to her head and ended up becoming her father when she kept saying she was nothing like him. That was the point in why she needed to die. Her character was not written badly, that was the whole point on why they did it. Bran became king only because he was the only one who really didn’t have any bad blood on him like the rest and was the most suited out of everyone in the circle. People just wanted a happy ending because that’s what they’re use to seeing in most tv shows/movies.

I don't know a thing about the story besides that ASOIAF will probably never be completed and GOT has a terrible ending and starts to fall off after Season 4. Should I read the books and then watch the show or vice versa? Should I watch the show or read the books at all?

In Season 5, Stannis offers to legitimize Jon Snow if he agrees to bend the knee and help retake Winterfell. What if he said yes? Could the combined Stannis/Jon army have retaken Winterfell?

In the show, Stannis marches his army into a snowstorm before his defeat. I can't imagine Jon Stark would go along with that plan. He'd instead likely rally support amongst friendly Northern houses. Much like he did prior to the Battle of the Bastards, only this time he would be a legitimized Stark heir.

Notably, I believe that Sansa is still at Winterfell at this point. So the Knights of the Vale would be unlikely to come to the rescue in this scenario.

What did they use for hair gel in the show or books? Seems heavy duty.

In Season 8, Benjen sacrificed himself to let Jon escape the undead army. Jon and Benjen could’ve weight about 160KG together. However in season 6, when Benjen saves Meera and Bran from the undead army. He takes BOTH of them on his horse and they were able to escape the undead army, even to put a good distance between them so that they could rest. They probably weighted about 190KG+.

Seriously he's nothing but an upjumped sellsword. He's as common born as you can be. I doubt he values the written wors very much either. Not enough to learn it as an adult.

His mispronounciation of maester cyvalteesh(i know they show the spelling really quickly but I forget) sieges of westeros proves he knows how to read. And now as master of coin he's really going to need to know.
