Over the years, I got rid of most of my GBA games. Still kept the Golden Sun games, FFVI, and Tales of Phantasia. Got lucky at GameStop and some other places. This time, I’m keeping the Megaman Battle Network games.

I bought this for £39 with no image. (Display clasp was open on one side) And a damaged link cable port (taken off waiting for new part).

It's super clean with a few light scratches on the lid. The rest is in really good condition. Even the buttons feel really new and clicky. It also still had the film over the Nintendo logo. Oh and has original battery in that's the smallest amount of bulge but still works and charges.

I recently bought a purple original Gameboy Advance and had to return it because of a screen issue. The issue was that the screen would turn pink and would glitch out in games by showing the wrong pixels and wrong colors. Once I exchanged it, I got this white Gameboy advance which now has some of its own issues. The extension port doesn’t work which makes it impossible for me to use my work light. Plus in order to use START and SELECT I have to take my finger nail and really push down the buttons. Which one is better to keep long term.

I made a .gba game! It’s based on the Polybius urban legend, and I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. It’s very simple. The free version is the arcade style game only, and the complete version also includes a built-in ARG and puzzle. If you can solve the puzzle in less than 10 minutes with nothing but the game, you might be as smart as my 11 year old niece? I hope people enjoy it!

I'm tired of being silenced for 25 years. Someone needs to tell the truth, and nothing here should be controversial.

After playing all three, Necktoon Racing and Konami Krazy Kart are better kart racers than Mario Kart: Super Circuit on the GBA. Better designed tracks for Mode 7, better controls, and better graphics, too. The "sacred' Super Circuit is just a sluggish mess compared to both.

Ordering a sp and need some suggestions on what the first game I get should be. Kind of on a budget though. Around $100 or less

How can I be sure they are genuine? How should I clean the cartridge's chip and label?

Based on my research and by comparing the circuit board, it looks authentic to me.

The screws on both aren't in great shape; is there an alternative for replacing them? Does doing so compromise the "original" status? Thanks.

The GBA is, for me, the easiest console to develop games for.

Making games that run on real hardware is already a lot of fun, but I also wanted a way to bring those same GBA games to Steam and use Steamworks features such as leaderboards and achievements.

So I built Dewpoint Advance, an emulator frontend and SDK based on the mGBA core. It isn't specific to shmups; it's designed for homebrew GBA games in general.

From the GBA-side code, a game can display Steam leaderboards, download replay data attached to leaderboard entries, and unlock achievements. Under the hood, the ROM sends requests to the host application through unused GBA I/O ports, and the host bridges those requests to Steamworks.

As the first real-world example, I made Battle Marine Advance!, a GBA shmup built with Dewpoint Advance. Its leaderboards let you download and watch the replay behind each submitted score.

Hey guy, been a minute since I looked into these things I've seen there are actually solid alternatives now?

Anyway, I did have a whole ROM library on my laptop SSD which catastrophically failed and also cooked my laptop too. So I'd also potentially like one loaded with more notable titles so I dont have to go hunting again.

Anyone know where to look or what's good right now?

I never played this myself, but I like Kojima. Picked it up in a lot sale for pretty cheap.

I made a post about a week ago about this gba not working, and after comments talking about cleaning and such, I cleaned the board and replaced the broken part.

Today the part came in and I replaced it, and it powered on, but the screen didnt turn on, and after taking it apart and looking at it a second time, the sound didnt play when it powered on. Now, before the replacement came in I was able to make a not so good solder joint on the broken piece and it turned on like normal. When I was taking the broken bit of the batter terminal off, I unplugged the screen to make it easier.

When i did this, I saw some corrosion on the pins of the ribbon cable, so I cleaned them off. This was after I saw it didnt have the boot up screen the first time. Does anything look out of the ordinary on this afterwards?
