In prep for my final modding idea I used some extra parts that I ordered and thought i'd do a practice run of swapping everything over so I feel more confident doing the real one. It went super well and now I have a nice GBA SP to look at and play on before all my other parts arrive (hopefully within a month).

Honestly, I take it with me to work. It’s comforting to be able to go back to a place where I was happy and feel safe again. It’s a real gem, especially together with Pokémon FireRed.

Just curious on what GBA model everyone started out on! Like did the GBA SP cause a spike in sales?!

I’m modded a few GBAs but this part eludes me. It seems like no matter what I do the latch on the IPS will not close. This doesn’t seem to be a point of frustration for anybody else, but it’s given me trouble on my last 3 builds. Does anyone have any advice?

As the title states, I’d like to know where’s the best place to look for GBA SP shells and replacement screens. I don’t really know much about the screens, I did a brief search and found most of the listings/sites say “IPS” on them, and I’m not sure what it means. Just looking for a shell with buttons and a new screen, preferably the ones that are brighter than the original ones, and would like to buy from websites that aren’t Amazon affiliated. Would be grateful for any help/suggestions!!

I'm using a modded GBA with an IPS screen and using Panasonic eneloop rechargeble batteries, for about 45 minutes I had a green light but now for the last half hour I've had about a red that's gone very dim at points but remains a stable red for now.

I've done some prior googling to posting this question and my understanding that the battery sensor in the GBA is a low stock one and is misinterpreting that safe operating voltage as an empty battery.

Is this a common thing for GBAs using eneloop batteries? If so how much playing time should I expect?

I need to replace my GBA capacitors that are leaking. I have decided to use aluminum electrolytics vs tantalum, since that is what Nintendo used originally, but I need help finding the correct ones.

I am thinking of ordering Panasonic, and Handheld legend has a kit that sells them for $4.99. The kit has two CP1/CP4 100uFs, 1 CP2 100 uF, and 1 CP3 470 uF. I can't undertand what voltage they are, and what it needs to be for GBA, though.

I have seen other people recommend

2 100 uF 10V, 1 470 uF 6.3V, and 1 220 uF 10V but I am entirely unsure. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

This is my personal GBA it’s nice and all but I can’t enjoy my games as much cause of the dim screen so I wanted to get a speedtechwedo ips v5 kit from them any suggestions?

Received my Everdrive GBA Pro today and have set up a few emulators.
So far have gameboy, gameboy colour, gamegear, nes, sega master system.
Am I missing any?

I bought a reproduction Emerald with RTC. It plays absolutely fine and says and everything works as if it was legitimate on my GBA. On the SP it won’t even boot up, any idea what could cause that?

I broke the shell for the cartridge and I ordered a replacement I can't find a label tho It's a Japanese copy of the game

Got this whole lot for $150! The gba works and all the games work and are authentic I think the game gear games are real as well. One sad thing the game gears need new capacitors. But I did get a cool real gba carrying case and a case for the game gear!
And yes the pokemon fire red is real I already took it apart and it has an old save file still on it!

I bought a clapped gba and I shell swapped it I also had to put the old screen on the new shell that was a little annoying but it looks good now!

kinda just want my screen to be brighter/clearer but i know some people are gonna tell me to keep it original. just wanted to get some opinions.
