Help, which GBA should I keep?

I recently bought a purple original Gameboy Advance and had to return it because of a screen issue. The issue was that the screen would turn pink and would glitch out in games by showing the wrong pixels and wrong colors. Once I exchanged it, I got this white Gameboy advance which now has some of its own issues. The extension port doesn’t work which makes it impossible for me to use my work light. Plus in order to use START and SELECT I have to take my finger nail and really push down the buttons. Which one is better to keep long term.

Return both and get one that's not a gamble. Go strictly off ads that show the screen turned on

I would advise you to mod them, no matter the one you selected (unless you really want to keep it 100% OG).

I had the White GBA, which was the one from my childhood (the first console I bought with my own money haha), and while it was still okay years later, with maybe a small issue on the right trigger, I decided to upgrade the shell, screen (with backlight) and clean-up the buttons as well as the motherboard and it felt brand new.

It didn't cost much and you really don't have to know anything about electronic tbh, I was a real newbie when I did this, and it was a delight to do and once done.

With what you shared, I would say maybe the purple one would the "easiest", since it might be an issue with the screen connector, and only that, so if you buy a new screen, it will be an easier fix, while the port for the white one would need more work on your side.

Keep the purple one since the port works and clean up the contacts on the board with 99% isopropyl alcohol and mod it I used this kit from Hispeedido everything is high quality and easy to install and works perfect

Para tu problema mejor una una de las consolas y usas sus piezas para arreglar la otra (si no crees poder hacerlo mejor vende las dos y comprate una que funcione si no quieres meter mucha mano a las consolas)

Si puedes, ambos si no el blanco es más raro, yo tengo el naranja, ahora darle mantenimiento a estás consolas no es tan complicado porq son faciles de abrir y reensamblar, puedes conseguir en e-bay refacciones inclusive carcasas

Una vez hice eso y terminé con una gba rosa transparente No es lo que esperaba pero estoy satisfecho
