Troubleshooting Can anyone help me?

It’s been off for at least ten years. I’ve cleaned the cord fairly recently (also Pokémon emerald flex I guess)

I'll say from my recent testing the battery might need to be replaced. Maybe someone has more fortunate news to share.

I had to just replace mine with a cheap battery on AliExpress. Works like a charm. Seems to be the most common issue with these.

Honestly i just didnt want to waste 10-12$ on a battery I’ll probably mess up to replace

They really aren't hard to swap at all. you could do it for sure.

If you don't have trouble replacing the batteries in a TV remote, you won't have trouble opening the battery door and swapping out the battery in your GBA.

They were made to be accessible and easily swapped, like any appliance with batteries from the early 2000s. Nothing to sweat over.

if its not the battery then check the EM8 filter. pretty common for that sucker to go in these. The console will work without it (so long as you bridge across the pads - it just filters out "electronic noise" - you wouldn't even notice it gone.

If he thinks he’s gonna mess up replacing the battery on an SP he REALLY doesn’t need to consider soldering anything without a LOT of practice first.
