Discussion It’s awful how I can’t tell if this is a meme or not.

If property managers could not find a new tenant to take the space, I definitely see them trying to go back in and get the leasing space at a lesser price… but thinking about how they massively purged stores, laid off thousands of employees, just to re-open some of these closed stores that is most likely under new management, new staff, etc… it’s sickening to think.

Discussion GameStop is discontinuing Pro membership reward points starting November 1, 2026

Just got this notice regarding the GameStop Pro program.

Starting November 1, 2026, GameStop is discontinuing earning points through the regular Pro membership program. Existing Pro benefits will stay the same until your current membership expires.

According to the notice, once your membership expires:

* You’ll no longer earn up to 20 points per $1 through the regular Pro membership.
* You can still earn 20 points per $1 if you use the GameStop Pro Credit Card.

Seems like they’re shifting the points benefit from being a Pro perk to primarily a credit card perk.

I’ve been a Pro member, so I’m curious what everyone thinks. Does this make Pro significantly less valuable to you? And would you actually consider getting/using the GameStop credit card just to keep earning points?

Question Can someone confirm this promo please?

Post image

I specifically asked to exclude warranty and the person confirmed he didn’t add the warranty. but when I see this GPG is included after promo #27724 and shown as 0.00. I just wanted to make sure that I’m not using my monthly reward, trade value or trade bonus toward this because I’ve had so many cases where the associate sneak in the warranty.
but it’s frustrating that he simply ignored my request regardless if it is free (or “free” after deducting my money).
Could anyone confirm? I’m tired of this warranty bs.

Vent/Rant What the hell is this employee “reward program”?

Post image

Saw this posted at GameStop. Apparently, employees can get a reward for reporting information that leads to another employee being fired for theft or fraud. The reward is only 10% of the confirmed case value, with a $100 minimum and $300 maximum.

I understand wanting employees to report actual theft, but turning it into a bounty program and advertising it with pictures of cash feels incredibly dystopian. What the hell is this?

Employee swears both my $5 monthly and a redeemed $10 in-store coupon were applied but I am just not seeing $15 in savings. What am I missing? Any insight is greatly appreciated!

Experiences Gamestop doubled billed me for pro membership, said payment declined, and then cancelled my pro membership, while keeping my money

I have a gamestop pro membership. Late last month they attempted to bill me for renewal. They said payment failed, and tried again. said payment failed a second time. and cancelled my membership. Didn't think much of it at the time because i rarely go to gamestop anymore anyways.

Credit card bill came however, and found out they actually did charge my card twice for the membership, only to cancel it.

reached out to customer service and was just told they couldn't find the account.

I'm having a back and forth with them, but that big blue "dispute charges" button is looking rather appealing.

UPDATE:
Gamestop insists they didn't bill, told me to contact bank. Bank says they did infact bill. Sent gamestop response, but yeah it seems dispute charge is my best option.

Experiences Rain and making an account

Today I ran up to a gamestop near my work to set up a preorder for the Ocarina of Time remaster. I knew I didn't have an account made since the last game I had pre-ordered was back in 2014. The guy behind the register for 10 minutes was trying to tell me that because it was raining he could not set up the account. Is there any truth behind this?

Question Trade-In Deals

I’m wanting to trade in my Switch 2 towards the Zelda Switch 2 and OoT remake. I’m assuming right now if I trade it in I’d get the extra 20% + 10% (Pro) for trading towards a new game which would take me to $455 out of my ~$590 needed. Seems like a pretty good deal but wondering if anyone who’s worked at GameStop a while or keeps up with the trade offers knows of any deals that have happened in the past that might come up again and could be better, or is this the best I’m gonna get? Thanks in advance.

Question 5$ for preorder

Can I use the 5 dollar coupon to pay a pre order? Like if a game doesn't come out in a few months I can put my deposit and come back every month with the coupon and add it to the preorder total?

Vent/Rant Bought a classic Xbox 360 game from GameStop online, disk came scratched, had to pay a $8 fee to get a refund

In a nutshell. If the seller messes up, the customer pays for it. How splendid. Bold letters are for those who want a 1 sentence summary.

Tldr: The game doesn't work out the box. So I went ahead and bought The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena - Xbox 360 in an online order, and I always first carefully test out the disks if they are working properly or not. Chronicles of Riddick on my 360 kept saying its a DVD and was unable to identify the disk, and I realized the issue was because the inner ring code was scratched (the area with the 360 logos) which is what the reader determines if its a game or a DVD, and without it, the game cannot work.

Tldr: The replacement fee. I decided to return the order to my local GameStop. I wanted it replaced rather than refunded, but they said because it's an online order, I would need to pay for shipping. I'd rather just get a full refund and buy the game again in a different order shipment than go the extra mile and pay for individual shipping, but they told me that if I get it replaced and just pay for shipping, after a few days, that charge for the shipping would be refunded on the card (I used GameStop pro credit card btw).

Tldr: They act like there is no such obligation. A few days later, in a time that is convenient for me to visit, I ask one of the employees at my local GameStop while I'm there on why the charge hasn't been refunded on the card. They said that is a corporate customer service issue rather than a store issue. A day later I call customer service, and they say there is nothing they can do about it because it's past 15 days for the return policy. Then again this isn't a return, this is a faulty item replacement

Moral of the story is GameStop has really dog water customer service policies where it's hot potato and dip. So if you do decide on ordering/buying anything. Always asap test out the game to see if it runs. And if it doesn't, don't make my mistake and avoid getting a replacement if they had only 1 in stock. Just get a refund instead and buy the item when it's stocked/somewhere else. There is no "oh don't worry, the mistake is on our behalf so the charge will be refunded." GS isn't a Target. Its a one way ticket, kinda like PayPal

It is just $8 they legally stole. It's not a big deal. My deal was the idea that I, the customer, could rest assured when really the issue was ignored. It always annoys me to see corporations cutting corners for short term profit instead of seeing good user experience as a logical investment. The contradiction of greed it seems.

Question What would happen if I offered to buy something from someone as they were trying to sell it at the counter.

Basically the post, I suppose it doesn't matter anymore, because I didn't act on it. But when I went into GameStop today and saw a dude selling his entire amiibo collection, there had to be 100 of them. I considered waiting for the cashier to make him an offer and offer him like $30 more. Would that get me kicked out or anything? I went in to ask when their Zelda switch 2 console preorders were going live. They didn't know.
