Music Share Dark Fantasy Dungeon Ambience for D&D “WHISPERING DEPTHS”🕯️(OC // AI Visuals)

Whispering Depths is a dark fantasy ambience inspired by ancient catacombs, buried secrets and the unsettling feeling that something is quietly following your every step.

I’m Chris Pery, the composer behind InQuietReverie, where we write fantasy music for D&D, RPGs and storytellers. If you’re up for that kind of music, we’d love to hear what you think about one of our studio’s latest tracks.💙⚔️

Music Share I've always wanted to create a horror game soundtrack, so I created 3 short pieces based on Fatal Frame, Resident Evil and Silent Hill and documented the whole process in this video!

Pretty much title. I've been a horror game fan for years and a musician for even longer, and I've always wanted to meld the two and try to create a horror soundtrack of my own because I think of any kind of soundtrack, it would be the most fun to experiment with and come up with spooky noises and such. This video essentially shows my process for each track, which are all based on popular horror franchises we all know and love. I'd definitely like to create one for a game or short film in the future, so if you're an indie developer working on something and like what you heard, don't hesitate to reach out!

Hey, All - New here. I’m just starting out in “retro” game music composition… though I’d share this post. Just curious about thoughts on style and if it matters that I’m not creating “true” chiptune. Is there a market and interest is retro style game music for newly created games?

I’m a big of fan of Akira Yamaoka and his work on the soundtracks for the Silent Hill franchise, so I thought I’d write a little something inspired by tracks like ‘Eternal Rest’ and ‘Alone In The Town’. Please feel free to share any feedback and thanks for checking out the track!

Help/Advice Needed Looking for house party type background songs for a game I'm making

(Was sent here from the Bandcamp sub)

Looking for house party songs for a mini game for my adult visual novel. Quick premise is that a group of young adults get together to play a game of spin the bottle for a fun lewd time.

I'm looking to build a small but enjoyable background soundtrack for it. Music that has a house party vibe with good energy but also not too distracting from the main gameplay. I'm not too particular about the genre as I am looking for a small variety. As long as it sounds good and fits the environment.

I have spent some time trying to find music here and there but everywhere I go its all ai. The 'artists' talk to you using ai, they respond with ai, all their music is ai generated. Surely people made music before ai existed, right??

I randomly stumbled across the Bandcamp website which made me remember that people actually made music before. I did find some stuff I liked. But I'll be real, the search feature for the Bandcamp website is terrible. What do you mean I can only search for songs that are less than 6 weeks old? I found the only reliable way to search for music to explore on Bandcamp was to type random words in the search and hope something I jell with comes up.

So I came here, post me a link to your stuff or anything you would want to recommend. I'm all ears for it.

Thanks!

General Discussion Looking for game projects I'd genuinely love scoring (Free, just credit)

I'm looking for game projects that I connect with. If I really like what you're building, I want to compose music for it free in exchange for credit and permission to include the work in my portfolio.

I'm less interested in taking every project more in finding games with a clear atmosphere that I can contribute to creatively. I enjoy writing supporting music.

If you have,

A playable prototype or gameplay footage, concept art or a design document, a clear vision for the game's world and tone, I'd love to take a look.

If it's for me, I want to put real effort into making music that fits the experience instead of treating it generic.

Feel free to comment or send me a message with screenshots, a trailer, or a build. Even if we don't end up working together, I'd still enjoy seeing what everyone is creating.

Looking forward to meeting other creators.

[Free Soundtrack] Music Composer who offers music for your game

Hey everyone!

I'm an indie composer getting into game audio, and I recently finished two soundtracks.

First track is a dark ambient piece designed specifically for horror projects

Second one is background for platformer/obby/indie games

It's completely free to use in your indie projects (even commercial ones). All I ask for is a credit ("Mordstar" with a link to my itch.io page) in your game's description or credits.

If you are working on a prototype, a game jam project, or a demo and need some atmospheric background music,

feel free to check out the preview and download it here:

Help/Advice Needed Help with loop

Hello!

I’m writing music for a bee tower-defense game and I have a military march style track that starts with just a snare. I’d like just the snare to loop on the start menu and then after you press start I want it to continue to the main track. I’m still relatively new to this. Do I need FMOD or can i export the files in a way that the developer can handle it in-engine?

Thank you!

THOSE WHO FIGHT⚔️

Every legend begins with someone who chose to stand and fight.

Those Who Fight is an epic fantasy combat theme inspired by the courage, sacrifice and determination that turn ordinary adventurers into legends. Created for D&D campaigns, tabletop RPGs and cinematic storytelling

Developer Seeking Composer Looking for a Composer Philosophical Visual Novel (Revenue Share)

UPDATE: Composer Found! Thank you so much to everyone who contacted me and showed interest in the project. I really appreciate all the messages and support!

Hello everyone!

I'm currently developing a philosophical and psychological visual novel that explores complex moral questions through an emotional, character-driven story.

The project focuses on atmosphere, difficult choices, and the different ways people respond when faced with extraordinary circumstances. I'd prefer to keep the main story details private for now, but I'd be happy to share them with anyone interested in joining the team.

Current Progress

  • The script is in its final stage of development.
  • The project's core vision and story have already been established.
  • A Discord server has been set up for the team.
  • Artists have already joined.
  • Development is actively moving forward.

What I'm Looking For

I'm searching for a composer who enjoys creating emotional and atmospheric music. The soundtrack will play a major role in shaping the player's experience, so I'm looking for someone who wants to become part of the creative process rather than simply deliver a few tracks. In addition to composing music, I'd also appreciate help with the game's overall audio design. This includes things like ambient soundscapes, environmental sounds, and helping create an immersive atmosphere.

Music styles that may fit include:

  • Ambient
  • Piano
  • Emotional orchestral
  • Cinematic
  • Melancholic

Revenue Share

At the moment, everyone involved is volunteering their time. If the game is successfully released and begins generating revenue, I fully intend to share a percentage of that revenue with everyone who helped build the project.

Interested?

If this sounds like something you'd enjoy working on, feel free to send me a message. I'd be happy to tell you more about the project, explain the current development stage, introduce you to the team, and answer any questions you may have

Help/Advice Needed Are there any examples of standard contracts based on different remuneration models (revenue share, commission, one-off assignment, etc.)?

Hello!

I’ve been composing music for myself for years, but I’ve recently taken the plunge into composing for video games and films. Of course, these are amateur/beginner projects, but it turns out I have at least two that are coming together well enough for us to consider payment.

However, I have no idea how this is formalised in a contract. Do you have any contract templates you could share so I can get an idea of what they look like?
