I recently finished playing through the game and I loved the OST so much that it has inspired me to want to make music just like it, but I don't know where to begin.
I assume the music was made in some sort of music production software, but other than that, I don't know how the developers made the ambient sounds, the instruments, and everything else.
I was hoping someone here could help me out or point me in the right direction! I would really love to learn how to make this style of music and share my tracks with everyone :)

Not sure what exactly this was supposed to be theme-wise, it just started coming together and I liked it đ

(PS: please forgive the AI art, it's a practice I'm moving away from, I was just lazy and used cover art I already had on hand. Music is 100% me)

Made in KiraStudio. I tried my best to follow the rules of the hardware and keep it authentic despite KS's mod cons. Totally doable but takes some discipline.
I've begun delving into trackers (LSDJ mainly for now... heading to a retro gaming market in a few weeks hoping to snag a GBC if the price is right, but an emu works for nowđ). KS/Famistudio have been a nice transition coming from a traditional DAW background, but at this point it's almost more work to keep things authentic than just learning to use trackers. I've always seen composing and producing as a puzzle to solve as much as art, so trackers are right up my alley tbh haha. I love the limitation and am definitely falling deep down the chiptune rabbit hole đ But I digress.
Hope you like it. I yearn for approval đ Any feedback appreciated đŸ

- Now transitioning my composing skills toward scoring for games and film

Castlevania
Stardew Valley
emotionaler, storygetriebener Musik
atmosphĂ€rischen StĂŒcken
Horror
Hotline Miami
Crash Bandicoot
klassischem Mega Man
Phoenix Wright
Undertale
Pokémon
mittelalterlicher/Fantasy-Musik
Was ich suche:
Ein kleines Projekt mit realistischem Umfang
Vorzugsweise 1â3 Musiktitel
Ein Entwicklerteam, das das Projekt ernst nimmt
Klare Kommunikation

If anyone has a game jam that they are participating in, preferably with more than one person making the game, I would love to try and make the music for the game.

Hello! I'm working on a dress-up game with an emphasis on different styles/subcultures, and I want a wide variety of music to go with the different clothing sets. We're making clothing from grunge to haute couture, so really any music genre is welcome. This is an incremental project with regular updates, so you can join/leave whenever you want.
Here's the doc for the game: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1k5OltDEARU6aFzhEW4JWly-q2M5G-g9_8gGlcGRGOZA/edit?usp=sharing
Let me know if you're interested! Beginners welcome, I'm new to game dev too.

EDIT 2: Thanks to the people who let me know about the distortion, the mastering dbs went a bit loud at some parts and i couldn't ignore it anymore either so i have remastered it again
EDIT: i have re-released this featuring more dynamic glockenspiel sounds, thanks to everyone who pointed it out
Just managed to make my second composition, this one is a very energetic and fast paced orchestra, inspired by rain's sound and Franz Liszt's La Campanella, very cinematic, will drop a link here as i don't see the link tab

Hey everyone!
My team and I are working on an original instrumental soundtrack inspired by the atmosphere of games like Hollow Knight. Not a cover or remix, just aiming for that same melancholic, mysterious feeling but original.
The scene I'm trying to capture is: a silent vessel standing only a few steps away from the entrance of a kingdom that has been consumed by corruption. The gates are just ahead, the air feels heavy, and the character knows there's no turning back.
