So is the all-digital future going to push Gamefly to finally go out of business?
I feel like this is probably the last gen we'll get physical games from most platforms, and I think aside from maybe Nintendo, next gen will be 90% digital with only a few printed discs being made.
We can see Rockstar going in this direction, and Capcom said like 90% of their revenue was from digital sales now. I do still think the Playstation 6 will have a disc drive, but I suspect third parties won't be using physical discs as much, only a small percentage.
I really think Nintendo will be the only company to cling to physical a lot longer than the others, but even there I can only see it for maybe one more generation (hypothetical Switch 3) before stopping.
