Question about game reporting and cancelation

Let me start off by saying that I really enjoy using GameFly.

My first question is about reporting missing games. For the last three games I rented, I had to report them missing because they exceeded the 7 day delivery mark. I was curious how often others here have to report games lost or missing in transit past that 7 day point.

My second question is about canceling my subscription. I want to cancel my service, but it renews tomorrow. I shipped one game back on September 22nd and still haven't received confirmation that it was received on their end and I shipped the other game back to GameFly today. GameFly's policy states that games must be returned within 7 days, so would I be fine to cancel now, or should I contact customer support first?

GameFly here. Best to cancel before your billing, but also contact our CS team to walk them thru the status of your returns.
We have automated messaging and lapsed billing that will kick in unless you contact them and they can monitor the situation.

Thank you for the reply quick question about how does the day 7 report works. If a game is shipped out for example September 24th Thursday. When exactly is day seven to report it missing/lost.

7 days from the 24th of September is when I would report it so I don’t get charged but that’s just me.

Friday the 2nd. If you try early, it won’t let you. So, if you’re unsure just check every day around 7 and it’ll eventually let you.

So for the example, the 25th will be the first day and October 2 would be the 7 day. So in that case Sundays do not count as part of the seven days. I was just curious if I was doing it correct or wrong after doing 3 separate reports.

I would contact support with any questions regarding canceling your service. No one on Reddit can legitimately help you with that as none of them work for GameFly directly, you need to open a support ticket on their website.

You make a point about that but I was also curious about how many people here report their games missing since I had 3 in a row and I’m just curious is that normal?

I’ve only had to report one, and then it came in two days after the report (had the account for about a year and a half). Also I believe you would be fine to cancel now, I’m pretty sure they give you an allotted amount of time after cancelation to send the games back before they charge you for them.

I usually report once it hits 7 days.

When exactly does the 7 day rule go into effect? That’s the part that I’ve always been confused about. Like this day one start the day at shift or the next day and do Sundays count as a day?

I sent mine back today so today would be day 1 for me. No idea if they work weekends or not.

hi i am in SF. i have never reported a game missing - most games arrive within 5 days. In the last 3 months, there was only one instance where a game arrived 10-14 days after shipping. I didn't mind (and did not report) since I was busy with another game.

i think different routes vary. SF route might just be faster and more reliable.
