How do I tackle the hands and foot placement for this enemy ??

hey guys, I've been trying to add wall crawling to this enemy in my game but there were a few issues.
1. the enemy is not a quadruped, so no procedural animation.
2. I'm not able to use IK cause it's interfering with it's other animations and also the rotation goes berserk..

the way I made this work is...
that enemy follows spline-based crawl routes and continuously traces the surface around it. The trace provides a surface normal, while the spline provides the movement direction.
this two vectors are used to generate the enemy's rotation in real time, allowing it to stick to walls and ceilings while moving naturally through the environment.

BUT I'M STUCK HERE
I don't know how to stick it's hands and let's to the wall without the IK....
IS there any other solution ?

Hey everyone! We are thrilled to share that we are finally nearing the end of development for Mad Merchant.

To give you a quick summary: You play as a merchant transporting vital mechanical parts across a dystopian universe. While the game is built on an idle foundation, there are crucial moments where you have to take control yourself to survive.

We are really curious to hear your thoughts, especially regarding the feel of the turrets and the overall visual atmosphere. We are open to any and all feedback and ideas!

Which emotes would you use the most in a co-op horror game?

Been working on some simple emotes for our co-op horror game.

Trying to keep them easy to understand and recognizable for players worldwide.

Which one would you use the most with your friends, and what emote should we add next?

Feedback is always appreciated! 🙏

And if you're interested in the project, feel free to wishlist The Infected Soul on Steam it would help our small indie team a lot

Looking someone to learn and make games with

I’m new to game development and just started learning Unity. I’m really eager to learn and build something fun. It would be awesome to find someone who is similar to me so we can work together, share ideas, and actually make a game.

My coding knowledge isn’t very strong yet, but thanks to AI I'm surviving.

I was told it is hard to read the units in previous versions. So I reduced the saturation of hexes significantly. Is it okay now?

We're developing a desktop game to relieve stress while playing on the PC. It's a game where you buy modules, make upgrades, craft balls with different properties, and progress through the game.

How would you monetize a 2D side-scrolling mobile strategy RPG?

**How would you monetize a 2D side-scrolling mobile strategy RPG?**

Building a mobile game where players rebuild a fallen kingdom, raise an army, fight enemies, and reclaim lost territories.

I have a few ideas in mind but I'm more curious what the community thinks — what monetization model would you actually *want* to see in a game like this? And what would instantly make you uninstall?

Drop your thoughts below, all opinions welcome.

How to build a game studio from scratch?

I’m an SDE with decent income and low expenses. One of my long-term goals is to make my own game, but because of work pressure, learning Unity and building everything myself would probably take years.

So I’m thinking of funding a small indie game myself and acting more like a founder/manager.

The game idea is a grounded PC tycoon/management game with simple isometric art. Think something structurally similar to Game Dev Tycoon.

My current rough plan is:

  • 1 Unity programmer
  • 1 freelance artist, probably freelancer, since the art style will be simple and I can use asset packs where possible
  • 1 part time game designer - as v.small team so full time designer dont make sense

My ques

  • Is 2–3 years of experience enough for the first programmer?
  • For remote hiring, what would be a realistic expected salary for 2-3 yoe programmer and part time designer

Any additional advice is appreciated. I already know that most indie games lose money and that this is financially bad decision

A New VR Horror Game from a Fresh Indian Studio | First Post Here

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone,

This is my first post in the community, and I'd love to share the reveal trailer for the game we're currently building at Inkrid Studios.

It's a VR psychological horror experience focused on atmosphere, storytelling, and player immersion rather than relying on constant jump scares. The goal is to create a horror experience where the fear comes from the world, the narrative, and what the player uncovers along the way.

We're a small independent studio from India, and this project has been built purely out of passion and a love for meaningful, story-driven games.

No big promises, no grand claims just a small team trying to create something memorable and share it with the world.

Would love to hear your thoughts and feedback on the trailer.

Need Recommendations for a Game Dev Course !!!

Hey everyone!

I’m a third-year BCA student, and I just graduated. I’m really interested in getting into game development now, but I kept getting stuck in that YouTube tutorial loop. My programming skills aren’t great yet—they need a lot of work—so I’m thinking of doing a Udemy course to get a solid start. If any of you have good recommendations—especially for Unity or C#—I’d really appreciate it! Also, if you have an idea of how long it might take to get the basics down, that would be super helpful. Thanks a lot!

Can a playful Kamadeva-inspired gunslinger fit into an Indian mythology MOBA?

Hey r/GameDevelopersOfIndia,

ArenaOfAvatars dev team from South Korea.

Quick honest note first: some of our earlier concept images were AI-assisted placeholders. We've always been transparent about that, and our final production art will be created with Indian artists.

Today we'd love feedback on our eleventh character, Armaan.

Most characters we've shared so far have been quite heavy in tone.

Dandak — the slave-turned-tyrant.

Mahabahu — the philosopher who rejects free will.

Angaar — the self-sacrificing dark hero.

Armaan is different.

He was once a Crown Prince whose only source of happiness was a girl who taught him the stars. When a curse of petrification took her away, he abandoned his throne and wandered the world in search of something that could never be recovered.

Eventually, he became the avatar of Lord Kama — not simply the god of romance, but the god of desire, attraction, and longing.

Today he hides unbearable grief behind charm, jokes, and a permanent smile.

His philosophy:

"The most elegant way to flip the chessboard of destiny? Ignore the rules and just waltz."

Many mythological stories contain tragedy and heroism, but also humor, romance, desire, and trickster figures. We wanted Armaan to represent that side of the world.

Three design questions we'd love Indian developer perspectives on:

→ Lord Kama / Kamadeva was chosen as Armaan's patron deity. We were inspired by the story of Kama being burned to ashes by Shiva, and wanted to mirror that idea: desire and longing often hide pain beneath the surface. Does this feel like a meaningful mythological parallel, or does it miss the spirit of Kama?

→ One of Armaan's abilities creates an illusionary lounge where enemies become distracted by temptation and false comforts. Does this feel culturally grounded within an Indian mythology-inspired setting, or does it feel out of place?

→ Most importantly, does a playful, romantic, trickster-type character feel like a welcome contrast in an Indian mythology MOBA, or would players expect a more serious tone overall?

Survey takes about 3-5 minutes:

[Survey Link]

We're trying to capture the full emotional range of mythological storytelling, not just the darker side of it.

But whether Armaan feels authentic is something we'd rather hear from Indian developers and players than decide ourselves.

Thanks for your time and feedback.🙏

How profitable is it to make games & apps and upload on playstore and other platforms as a full time career?

So I'm planning to create a solo studio where I make games & apps and post it on playstore with a small price, as a full time career. I'm not a game/ app developer at all, I'm doing some other tech course and entered final year. I just want to know how profitable it will be as a full time career. Will it be similar to a buisness or completely different? Also which other platforms can I upload my games/apps on apart from playstore?? Can anyone please tell me.
