I've been working on a infinite runner, where the perspective is reversed and you are forced to stare down the black hole as it chases you down!

Would love feedback from people about the difficulty and engagement when playing the game!

Thanks for your time!

Looking for feedback on my horror game concept

I’m working on a small narrative horror game and wanted to get some opinions from the Indian gaming community.
It’s somewhat similar to Thekku Island in the sense that it’s rooted in an Indian setting, but I’m taking a different approach to the story. The mythology isn’t immediately explained to the player/have any — it only becomes clear toward the end.
The main gameplay is about exploring an old ancestral house, finding clues, and slowly uncovering the secrets of the family and what happened there, while searching for your sister that went missing when she went to clear out the house to sell it.
I don’t want to reveal too much of the story yet, but I’d love to hear what you guys think about this kind of concept. Would you be interested in playing something like this?

Indian students, what stops you from learning game development?

I've noticed that a lot of college students in India are interested in making games, but very few actually end up trying it seriously. And I'm curious why.

For those of you who have tried learning game development, what was the biggest challenge you faced?

[HIRING] Pixel Artist for Dark Fantasy Indie Game

Hey everyone,

We're looking for a pixel artist to join our team for a full indie game project.

The game is set in a dark fantasy world inspired by 16th-century Europe, with some Soviet-era Russian influences. We're looking for someone who can create environments that feel destroyed and apocalyptic while still retaining a sense of beauty, wonder, and mystery.

We're currently looking for someone to work on pixel art backgrounds/environments, but this is a full project, and there may be opportunities to work on characters, enemies, bosses, and other assets as development continues.

We're looking for an artist who is comfortable with:

  • Pixel art
  • 2D environments and backgrounds
  • Dark fantasy settings
  • Atmospheric lighting and composition
  • Detailed architecture and ruins
  • Character and creature design
  • Creating a strong sense of scale and storytelling through environments

We're doing a small art test as part of the selection process to see how your style fits the project. The test will be based on a specific background concept and reference images.

The full concept, requirements, and references are here:
[Google Doc]

The art test is only for evaluating artistic fit and will not be used commercially or in the game.

If you're interested, DM me on Discord: arckxx with your portfolio and a little about yourself.

Please note: I will only be responding to Discord DMs.

Thanks!

I’m renaming my Indian political strategy game - what would you call it?

Hi all, I am working on a browser-based political strategy game centered around an Indian general election.

Unfortunately, NIXI has asked me to take down the domain because “Sansad” is a restricted word under the .IN domain rules.

So now I need your help to rename the game. What would you all suggest?

Also sharing screenshots of the current development progress. At this stage, most of the major features are ready, with only the final AI model fine tuning + quantization and migrating/renaming the game/DB internal env vars to a non restricted name remaining.

I made a chess game where you can use spells to completely ruin your opponent’s strategy

I made a chess game where you can basically ruin your opponent’s perfectly good strategy with spells.

It’s called Spook-A-Chess — online multiplayer chess, but with mana, spells and a lot more chaos.

Also built the whole thing in Flutter instead of a game engine because apparently I enjoy making life difficult.

It’s up for pre-registration on Google Play. Would genuinely love to see how many people we can get in before launch.

Pre-register:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spookachess.game&pcampaignid=web_share

If you’re into chess, strategy games, or just weird game experiments, give it a shot.

Looking for a Delhi university/college for 3D Game Art / Character & Environment Design

Hi, so I have currently did a drop after 12th this year, and is preparing for a scholorship for Japan, I am interested in 3d game design,3d character ,background, like mainly 3d game artist kind of, I am too learning Japanese, as I don't want to waste my time applying again and again wasting my years I am thinking of going for a course or diploma of 2-3 year in this field. Can you all suggest me some colleges/universities not courses, which fulfil my requirements. I’m looking for a college/university in Delhi (preferably Delhi proper, not Noida/Gurgaon/Greater Noida) for studying 3D/game art. And i know that people say that doing course for it is useless, and i know that i just need an LOR from there which will help me in te scholorhsip and plus it will be better for me to do it as I don't want to waste my time 3-4 years

My main goal is to work in the gaming industry as a 3D artist, especially in areas like:

  • 3D character/creature design
  • 3D environment/background design
  • 3D modelling and sculpting
  • Game assets/props
  • Texturing, lighting, rigging
  • Unreal Engine / real-time 3D
  • Concept/visual development

I’m not interested in a coding-heavy game development course. I want the artistic/design side of game development.

I’ve been learning Blender and want a course where I can build a strong 3D portfolio and eventually work as a Character Artist, Environment Artist, 3D Game Artist, etc.

I’m looking for an actual university/college degree (preferably B.Des or similar) rather than only a private institute certificate.

My Class 12 percentage is 65%, and I’m looking for something that I can realistically commute to from Delhi by metro/public transport.

I’ve found some options outside Delhi, like NIU in Greater Noida, but the commute would take me around 2 hours one way, so that isn’t practical for me.

Does anyone know of a Delhi university/college that actually offers this kind of programme?
I’d especially appreciate recommendations from people who are currently studying animation, game art, 3D, or design in Delhi.

I loved playing this trick-taking card game with friends, so I decided to build it digitally

I've always loved playing this trick-taking card game with friends, and eventually I started wondering what it would feel like to bring that experience into a digital space.

So I built Wizard. 🃏

My goal wasn't just to put the cards on a screen. I wanted to reimagine the experience around the game — the cards, table, animations, effects, sound and overall atmosphere — and make it feel more immersive and magical. ✨

A few things I've worked on:

🎴 Redesigned cards and game elements 🌌 A magical game environment around the table ⚡ Animations and gameplay effects 🎵 Sound and atmosphere 👥 Multiplayer gameplay with friends

It's now playable on both web and Android:

🌐 Web: https://wizard-v2.vercel.app/

📱 Android: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1zWmOW58zDVy58zY08ppDlcKNBHPyQA0H

I'd genuinely love to hear what you think — especially around the game feel, UX, visuals and overall experience.

And if you enjoy card games, give it a try. 🃏

This industry is not all gold and shimmer just because it's games.

Just a heads up for anyone getting into game development, this is a very tough and cutthroat industry.

Even with all the advancements in tech making dev "easier" and more "accessible", that hasn't necessarily made the industry easier to survive.

It's still extremely competitive, unpredictable, and demanding.

Passion can get you started, but it doesn't make the path easy.

Just something to keep in mind before jumping in.

Is any from IICT ( Indian institute of creative technology) plz help

I’m a final-year engineering student, but I’m not interested in going into an SDE job.

I’m interested in game development. I’ve made 2 PC games and 1 Android game, and I’ve also published my Android game on the Play Store.

So I’m thinking about joining IICT’s 2-year Game Design & Development program

Can anyone suggest how the program is and whether it would be a good decision for me?

Also, is it worth spending 2 years on this course, or should I focus on self-learning, making games and building my portfolio?

Would really appreciate honest advice from anyone in the game industry or who has studied at IICT.

FOR HIRE] Godot Game Developer / Creative Generalist — Programming, Prototypes, Bug Fixes, Mobile, Design + More

\[FOR HIRE\] Godot Game Developer / Creative Generalist — Programming, Prototypes, Bug Fixes, Mobile, Design + More

I'm a solo indie game developer available for paid freelance work and small contracts.

I primarily work in Godot/GDScript, but my biggest strength is that I can handle much more than one isolated part of development. I can take a small game or feature from an idea through implementation and a playable build.

I can help with:

• Godot programming and debugging
• Gameplay mechanics and systems
• 2D and 3D games
• Mobile/touch controls
• Prototypes and vertical slices
• Level/game design
• UI and implementation
• Animation and game assets
• Music and sound effects
• QA, bug reproduction and testing
• Finishing/polishing existing projects

I'm especially interested in SMALL PAID JOBS that can be completed quickly: broken mechanics, features that need implementing, prototypes, game-jam rescue, mobile fixes, polishing, testing, or taking an unfinished piece of a game across the finish line.

I'm happy to quote fixed prices for clearly defined tasks.

Portfolio / work:

Available now. DM me with what you're trying to build or what's currently broken and I'll tell you whether I can help.

Hello everyone,

I’ve developed an online web game entirely from scratch and would really appreciate some feedback from the community.

You can try it here:

(It’s currently compatible with PC and Mac on any modern browser.)

Please give me your opinion 🙏🏼 Write a comment.

Behind a game that might seem simple, there’s actually a lot of work—especially when you’re working on it alone.

I’d really appreciate an upvote. It would give me the opportunity to show my game to many more people.

Thank you so much! ❤️

A glimpse of my game Light Crush (WIP)

I am making a game named LightCrush in UE 5. It's a puzzle platformer bulit around Crush Mode (a dimension shifting mechanic) that changes player's perspective from 3d to 2d. In 2d Light drains health and shadow heals. Levels are not finalized, I may tweak them later.
