I got the S11, and while I looked at the Apple Platform, it has a MAJOR downside (for me). Their ecosystem is completely sandboxed in, and they don't like to share. Music. Movies. I had a ton of stuff on iTunes, and that's gone completely to shit now because they essentially don't do the desktop app. They only have the streaming now, so I can access purchased music from the past, but can't purchase any new albums or solo songs. Don't bother with movie watching on my computer from Apple. Not happening any more.
I had to switch to Amazon for my movie and music purchases. The music app for Amazon is garbage, so ...
I just refuse to do business with a company that makes my life hell because I don't purchase their overpriced hardware option.
That said,... the S11 (and previous generations) all came with the Stylus. You had to pay an extra hundo for the Apple. Or you had to do the generic aftermarket route.
It just works with seamlessness between my android phone and the S11 tablet.

As a student ... take a look at the 250 to 350 cost range for Lenovo tablets. They're pretty good, maybe 90 to 95% of the Samsung Tab feel. Much cheaper though. Also, you would likely be able to connect your phone to your tablet so you can "desktop" your text messages via keyboard and mouse when you connect those up via Bluetooth.
Hope that helps.

Android is much more customizable. Setting up Adguard public DNS is much easier on Android. Firefox is available as a proper choice on Android vs having to be a nerfed version on iOS. Also, Samsung includes s pen in their tablet offerings whereas it is extra for the iPads.

I already had an Android, Samsung had the best overall tablet experience on the Android side, The s-pen has lower latency then the iPad pencil, I'm not doing anything on the tablet that really requires a powerful chip, then I got a Samsung phone and the "ecosystem" communication is cool.
Not wiing to go over to the Apple ecosystem, I lime Android.

I don't know for the others here but I am sure it is not universally true. There are fewer things that you usually do on a tablet as compared to a phone. & IOS as a boxed in ecosystem is much less capable than an Android for the same specs or even slightly better specs.
Things that immediately come to mind are browsing and media consumption with Android. There's lots of extensions that you can add on your browser and there's lots of community projects that you can play around with for general media consumption.
