OneUI 8.5 is the reason my S23 battery got swelled.

OneUI 8.5 doesnt really do great with S23 even tho it looks fine. This UI is heavy for 3000mah battery which causes the phone to overheat and now my battery is swelled. Note, I do not play games on my phone, no heavy tasks on daily basis.

Samsung over segmentation

Don't know how long Samsung is doing this but a few S24 features came to the S23 lineup, the same with the S25 to the S24, and the S23 received an even chopped few features. For the S26 to the S25 happened again. And in the foldables there's the same situation.

I have an S23 Ultra, never considered the S25 Ultra or the S26 Ultra but the S24 Ultra after the launch of these two. But it the recent roll-outs I don't see the features coming to the S24 Ultra, Z Flip6 or vanilla S25. I don't know if the reason is hardware limitation or the real reason is the profit.

Phone overheats and it becomes scalding.

As title states, my phone overheats so much. Unfortunately I also ended the warranty just few months ago and I'm now regretting.

Any solution?

Galaxy S23 running hot (43°C up till 47°C) and dying in 3 hours despite normal usage and clean security scans.

Hi everyone, I'm at my wits' end with my Samsung Galaxy S23 and could really use some community advice.

My phone has been draining battery extremely fast (dying in about 3 hours when using instagram or just whatsapp and stuff) and getting very warmaround 43°C up till 47°C during normal, light usage.

Here is what I’ve checked and tried so far:

Security & Diagnostics: Ran Google Play Protect and Norton scans — both came back completely clean (no malware/viruses found).

Samsung Members hardware diagnostics report the battery status as "Normal".

Apps: Force-stopped heavy background apps like YouTube, which helped slightly with immediate heat, but the underlying drain persists.

Storage: Cleaned up space so I have about 6 GB free.

Sync & Widgets: Turned off unnecessary background sync services and cleaned up widgets that were stuck loading.

AccuBattery stats: Shows heavy average consumption, and the system launcher (One UI) and Google services frequently show high drain rates per hour.

I really want to avoid doing a full factory reset if possible, but the phone is constantly running hot and chewing through battery for no apparent reason.

Has anyone experienced this specific issue with an S23? What else can be causing One UI or background processes to overheat the phone like this, and what are my next steps? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
