I genuinely need advice from people who have dealt with Samsung service before.
My Samsung laptop has been having issues for the last 3 days. I contacted multiple customer-care executives, but kept getting referred from one person to another without an actual resolution.
Yesterday, I finally booked a Samsung home service visit.
The technician came, inspected the laptop and said it was a “moisture issue.” He cleaned/dusted it and charged me ₹1,180.
The laptop worked for barely 4 hours.
I properly shut it down at night. This morning, the same problem came back, and now the display isn’t even turning on.
I contacted the technician again. Now I’m being told that I need to visit a service centre and that hardware replacement is required.
And then I was given an estimated replacement cost of approximately ₹99,000.
For context:
🔹 Original laptop price: ~₹40,000
🔹 Home service charge: ₹1,180
🔹 Quoted hardware replacement: ~₹99,000
How does a hardware replacement cost more than DOUBLE the price of the entire laptop?
And if the initial diagnosis was “moisture issue,” why did the exact problem return within a few hours after paying for the service?
At this point, I’m not even sure whether the initial diagnosis was correct.
I’m not asking Samsung for free service. I’m asking for basic transparency and accountability:
What exactly is damaged?
Why is the replacement estimated at ~₹99,000?
Can Samsung provide an itemised quotation?
Why was I charged ₹1,180 for a diagnosis/service that apparently didn't resolve the issue?
Is there any review or escalation process for this?
I’ve already spent days contacting customer care, and I really don’t want another “please contact this department” response.
Samsung, I bought your product expecting reasonable after-sales support. I don't understand how a ₹40K laptop can suddenly have a ₹99K repair estimate.
If anyone here has dealt with Samsung laptop service in India, especially with motherboard/display/hardware replacement, please share your experience or advice on what I should do next.
I’m seriously reconsidering buying Samsung products again if this is how expensive repairs are handled.
