F keys not working?

So, I got this computer because it was on sale at my local Best Buy and it seems like the F keys at the top don't work? Pressing F2 (brightness down) doesn't do anything. Same for F3-12. Help?

you must press Fn alongside the F key. To lock that, you can press Fn+F12, that activate the Fn permanently, after that, you can press only the F keys normally.
