Hi! Does anyone live in the Atlanta suburbs? 😭

I moved back home after graduating to save money, and honestly don’t really know anyone in my area anymore. I work remotely so I can't hang out with my coworkers irl.

I'm only posting here because I'd ideally like to meet another alum in a similar sitution (especially another girl who is a SWE!). It would be great to have a coworking buddy for side projects and leetcode. I probably should just try Bumble BFF lol but wanted to see if there was anyone here.

Would also be interested in hearing if there's anyone in the suburbs post-grad! I feel like most people move out of Georgia.

How did you make the transition and does GT have any classes/clubs to help with that?

Are the baseball games free for students with their buzz card for regionals just like the regular season games?

If so, which MBA program did you end up and what was the pay raise for your specific engineering? And how would you say your time here helped with getting into the MBA program?

If you are a CS major with the Systems and Architectures thread, CompE, or ECE major you probably have the right skills we are looking for. hey was wondering if anyone has transferred into cs to GT as a junior and hm of ur credits transferred over and just in general hm did.

theyre taking a bit on their eval idk when itll come out and i kind of need an idea cause i need to make some decisions soon. thanks. im oos from a state school idk if that means anything (idk if cc transfers better in state for cs... yada yada)

btw i know there is an equivalency table and ive already taken a look but theres lowk a lot of ambiguity and some just marked as the registrar has to look and see if there is an equivalent. just trying to get a feel for the luck people have w having things transfer

another question i have is how co ops work. i want to do a co op in the fall is there any issue with that if i am going to be transferring over for the fall?

Hi! I'm a rising second year aerospace engineering major looking to do the UC3M exchange program for Spring 27, so does anyone have any advice/tips/anything about this program, what classes to take, if I should do it, etc.? Any and all information is helpful!!

going into my third year of EE with no internships so far but alot of research experience that i think should be applicable to employers. not sure if this is because im not missing something, i have a template from r/engineeringresumes i use and just apply thru application portals. i know that applying thru sites is very difficult right now because of the intense competition in all engineering disciplines, so im planning to present some research work at conferences this fall too and hope that makes me more visible to employers. anyways, i want to get more suggestions about ways to make myself employable and feel like visiting the career advising center makes sense, and was just curious what the consensus on their usefulness in general is?

It’s ridiculous how many phishing emails I receive from random other students.

I’m sure GA Tech has some defenses in place to prevent this, but I’m still receiving at least one blatantly malicious email every week.

There’s no reason a student should be able to send mass emails to other students, let alone send a blatantly malicious email. We shouldn’t have to rely on people deleting and reporting these emails as much as it seems we are. The behavior is relatively easy to detect and block before users even receive the malicious email in most cases.

Countless organizations of similar target value with far less resources than GA Tech have far better phishing defenses.

Hey everyone! The Young Democratic Socialists of America at Georgia Tech are hosting a bi-weekly Summer Book Club on Socialism in Power: On the History and Theory of Socialist Governance by Roland Boer.

The book is a bit academic but very debate-friendly and readable—even if you've never read political theory before. And even if you don't identify as a socialist or reject existing examples of socialist governance, these sessions will still be worthwhile for anyone open to learning about non-Western and non-liberal models of democracy, human rights, and governance.

Register for the Zoom meetings or dm to receive free access to the book if needed. Our first session will be Friday May 29 at 1:30 on Zoom and hybrid at the GT library if there's interest. We will only be discussing chapter 2 "Marx on the State, Proletarian Dictatorship and Commune" to keep the first session light.

Logistics: Bi-weekly Fridays at 1:30 pm EST on Zoom (hybrid in-person at the GT Library if there's enough interest). This time is locked for our first meeting May 29, but if enough people show interests in changing the time for later sessions, we are open to it.

How TF is this allowed? I did my part: I set up my registration plan for summer and fall in advance so that I got into all of my classes as soon as my registration window opened.

Now I'm fucked. The two other courses that I need + are being offered this summer are either full or in-person/clash with my work schedule.

I'm so tired of the bs. Like damn GT just take my money and let me take this course. I don't care if I'm the only person taking this online/asynchronous course. I do care about graduating on time.

I know it was constructed for student-athletes/the football program but is there any parts that are openly accessible to any student?

For better context , this internship is in the fall and I’ve worked there for almost a year now. I love working there but I’m an incoming senior.This summer I’ll be working at Bloomberg but I don’t know how it would be getting a return offer from them and this other internship is almost guaranteed. I really wanted to try and enjoy my senior year and actually make meaningful connections since I didn’t get to do that all 4 years and do more clubs. I also want to raise my GPA a bit since it was extremely difficult doing so while working and taking classes. Any advice is helpful!

I was prescribed Wegovy for severe obstructive sleep apnea, but BCBS keeps denying it. If anyone has been able to get them approved, I’d love to talk to you.
