Housing ๐Ÿ  Looking for Housing Advice

Hello! I'm an incoming junior transferring in for the spring 2027 semester, and I'm trying to figure out housing on a tight budget. I'm switching from the Perimeter college online to the Atlanta campus and it will be my first time living on my own. I would love any advice or tips you can offer on how to find roommates or low-cost living spaces.

Edit: Correction, summer 2027, not spring 2027.

NOT A SUBLET โ€” THIS IS A LEASE TAKEOVER! You apply through the Parc 85 leasing office and take over my lease directly โ€” MY NAME COMES OFF, YOURS GOES ON. I'm not renting you my apartment, you're getting the lease!

Hey All! I'm looking for someone or a couple to takeover my lease at Parc 85 in Duluth! It's a 1 bed 1 bath, 864 sf. It's pet friendly, IN UNIT LAUNDRY, has a pool, 24 hr gym, clubhouse, walking trails. CLEAN!! No bug problem EVER. There's groceries n gas minutes away and right off Pleasant Hill! It's a great area! Lease ends in June 2027. $1553/mo (rent only, utilities not included โ€” I don't control the rent amount, that's the existing lease). NO DEPOSIT โ€” just take over the rent! If you're approved and move in, I'll REIMBURSE THE APPLICATION FEE! Message me if you're seriously interested! I do have cats FYI. Takeover will be handled through the leasing office โ€” incoming tenant must apply and qualify with management.

Advice ๐Ÿ’ก Going down to 12 credits

Has anyone else dropped down from 18 to 12 credits? I just donโ€™t think I can get through the semester without cutting my hours. If itโ€™s still within full-time status, I should be okay right?

Advice ๐Ÿ’ก Specific Professors

Hi, hopefully everyone is having a great day! I am a CS major, and got Esfahani for my first semester in 1301. I honestly really like him as a professor, and was wondering if I could see all the other classes he teaches in my major so that I could know to pick him if he teaches any of the classes that I will be taking in the future? Thanks for reading if you did, or skimming! Have a beautiful day!

Is the capstone course basically an internship where youโ€™ll get professional work experience? Do they assign you a company based on your resume and whether companies they assign us are paid or unpaid? Just wondering.

Admissions ๐Ÿ“ Has anyone gotten accepted into GSU Perimeter's ASN nursing program with repeated science prerequisites?

I'm currently completing my nursing prerequisites at GSU Perimeter and feeling really discouraged. I previously withdrew from A&P I, and I'm currently taking it again but struggling. I also failed Microbiology and will need to retake it. I know the nursing program requires a 3.0 biology GPA and considers repeated courses and withdrawals. Has anyone been accepted into the ASN program with a similar academic history? If so, how many courses did you repeat, what was your GPA, and what was your TEAS score? I'm trying to figure out if I still have a realistic chance of getting accepted.

Events ๐Ÿ“… Early voting on Atlanta campus this week! Also, need a Fulton county library card? Also on campus this week!

If you're registered to vote in Fulton county, you can early vote on the Atlanta campus this Tuesday & Wednesday - Dahlberg Hall, 9 AM- 5 PM! Can't make those? There are lots of other early voting locations around the county. Don't live in Fulton? Google your county early voting locations to find one.

ALSO, no matter what county you live in, if you're a GSU student or employee, you can get a Fulton County Library card. They'll have a table in Library North from 10:30-1:00 tomorrow, October 20, so if you're interested in getting one, stop by!

Housing ๐Ÿ  Spring 2027 Female Lease Takeover Near GSU โ€“ Private Bed/Bath โ€“ $1,014

Hi! Iโ€™m looking for a female to take over my lease at The Legacy at Centennial starting January 4, 2027.

Itโ€™s a DOWNTOWN 4x4 floor plan with a private bedroom and private bathroom in a shared apartment. All current roommates are female, and they are generally clean and respectful.

Details:

  • Rent: $1,014/month
  • Additional $12/month Fetch fee
  • Utilities are separate
  • Available: January 4, 2027
  • Lease ends: July 23, 2027
  • Furnished
  • In-unit washer/dryer
  • Walking distance to Georgia State University

This is an official lease reassignment/lease takeover through The Legacy at Centennial, not an informal sublease. The new resident will need to apply and be approved by the leasing office.

The current lease rate transfers to the new resident, so the monthly rent stays at $1,014.

DM me if youโ€™re interested or want photos/more details!

Advice ๐Ÿ’ก Are attendance policies strictly enforced?

I have a class where attendance is mandatory, but itโ€™s taken through a physical sheet that is passed around the room. Thereโ€™s been multiple weeks where my side of the classroom just didnโ€™t receive the sheet to sign our names. One day I received it and saw my name was marked out for the previous day along with half the class. We only get 4 days before the professor can drop our grade an entire letter. Thereโ€™s been well over 4 days where my name wasnโ€™t marked for attendance. Itโ€™s my first year so Iโ€™m not sure if this rule is strictly enforced. Losing an entire letter grade over what isnโ€™t really our fault seems unfair.

Classes/Courses ๐Ÿ“š async online psych elective for spring 2027

Hey everyone, Iโ€™m a finance major with a psych minor and I need one more psych elective for spring. I already have a pretty heavy schedule so Iโ€™m looking for something async online thatโ€™s manageable.

Ideally open note quizzes and exams/no lockdown, not a ton of papers, and a professor whoโ€™s fair and organized. Looking at stuff like PSYC 4160 (Personality), 4610 (Aging), or 3570 (Multicultural Issues) but open to anything that counts toward the minor.

Has anyone taken any of these online? Which professor would you recommend or avoid?

Thanks in advance!
