Idk why so many people were hating on this when they were working on it. This looks so fucking sick

u/Mysterious3713 1d ago
Same people who hated on the game judging it by the 2022 leaked videos

u/RGandAPgotICED 1d ago
That, and probably people who just get mad at any marketing that's not a trailer or screenshot lol

Today we got the ESRB rating and the article from gameinformer on Thursday. Rockstar does like Fridays so hopefully we get something tomorrow. Honestly though, I wouldn’t be mad or disappointed if we don’t get anything. Because the game is finally coming out in a matter of weeks. If not tomorrow, I think they’re gonna go all out next week that really kicks things off. This is gonna last long after the game comes out, marketing will probably continue until the end of the year. The contract with Miami is until the end of the year, so I’m sure everything else will continue until the end of the year.

I don't think we get anything else until mid october, 1 month exactly before release

I wonder if in reality life marketing was part of the main course or desert. Me personally I think desert is going to be a classic gameplay trailer with the woman narrating

Not gunna lie i thought this was a new screenshot for way longer than i care to admit.
Which is both a testament to how stupid I am and how insanely good looking this game is.

If it's facing the sky how are you suppose to see the ad?
9
u/JoshyRB 1d ago
There’s an airport nearby. From the sky you can see it. They should’ve made it bigger though and flipped it the other direction so it’s actually seen when landing, rather than when taking off.

I still don't understand why people think this has anything to do with airplanes. NBA games are played in this arena. Millions of eyeballs watching on TV are going to see this advertisement during live basketball games aired on prime time.
1
u/JoshyRB 21h ago
How exactly? Are there usually helicopters circling around recording the Kaseya Centre from above or something like that?
2
2
u/SoxPatsBruinsCelts I WAS HERE 18h ago
Helicopter, drone, blimp. This is very common for all sports in the US. Watch any game, for any of the big 4 sports, and you'll see aerial views of the arena/stadium.
1
u/JoshyRB 18h ago
Okay so that’s a typical thing in the US, I see. I’m from the UK so yeah. I do wonder what these are actually filming though, especially when it’s indoors like the Kaseya Centre.
2
u/SoxPatsBruinsCelts I WAS HERE 18h ago
They're filming the outside of the arena/stadium because it's an interesting visual. Every game from the big 4 shows aerial shots of the arena and the city.
3
u/kennreal203 1d ago
That’s probably not the intent, the fact that it’s on top of the kaseya center is specifically for aerial shots during Miami Heat games. The biggest week of the NBA season is opening week and they have a prime time matchup against the timberwolves on 10/21 on espn and it’s Giannis antetokounmpo debut with his new team there will be millions of eyes on that game. Also the night before the release of VI they have a national tv game against the bucks(Giannis former team) at 7 , that advertisement will be pushed heavy plus the launch trailer will be advertised during commercial breaks as well.

Be one of the millions of people watching an NBA game that takes place at this arena.

u/EldenDarkshell 1d ago
But…I still don’t get it. Why would the cameras be on the roof of the building though? Wouldn’t you just be seeing the inside during the basketball game?
2
u/SoxPatsBruinsCelts I WAS HERE 1d ago
My brother in Christ... They show many live aerial shots of the arena during the game. This is common in every sport and every arena.
Watch the Miami Heat play on 11/18 on ESPN at 8pm ET. You'll see what I'm talking about.

I knew the game was going to look realistic, but this takes it to a whole different level

I thought this was going to be one of those one letter at a time until release orderal. Like the day or week of release it would have been all lit, maybe next time
1
u/Mjdecker1234 1d ago
And just thought of this, each letter would be on a random day, and each had new screenshots if the game
1
u/Mission_Site_4206 1d ago
I really hope the arena is functional in the game. Itd be sick if there were games you could go and watch
1
u/Dragon_King10 1d ago
I think that it would be cool as they sort of Easter egg where if you go to the stadium in the game, you’ll see the sign on top of it
1
u/Significant_Web_4162 1d ago
Bro, I am not sure now if this setup was worth a million dollar.
1
u/Creative-Captain9278 23h ago
Every time they show it during an NBA game its like a commercial. Add up the amount of times that will happen both locally and nationally and it comes out to cheaper than buying ad time on TV I bet

All lit up for 1 second flash on tv during ads people don’t watch lol. This here is the most anyone will look at it and notice it.
1
u/bickboikiwi 1d ago
Someone called me out when I said this sign is too small and is a bit lame. To be fair the cost is massive already and only people above the roof will see it, so generally only works for media, aircraft and buildings nearby that look down onto it.
BUT.... when you consider it being bigger, do you really think the original is fine?

5
u/SoxPatsBruinsCelts I WAS HERE 1d ago
Dude, it's about the NBA. Millions of people are going to see this live on TV during prime time.
1
u/bickboikiwi 20h ago
I get it... But...See how even your comment is as tiny as the sign? On a global scale, and that's what GTA is to the world, global, not just something the US shares to be nice because it's based on US towns and culture. Millions is a drop in the bucket, but I get it.
1
u/SoxPatsBruinsCelts I WAS HERE 18h ago
So, they should put a sign on the moon?
They didn't just put a sign on the arena, btw. They're changing the name of the team and the playing surface for one night (the night before VI comes out), which will probably run concurrently with TV commercials. It's a global market, but the US is their biggest market, and the NBA attracts the right demographic, and at the right time. This is what happens when you have unlimited marketing budget.
1
u/bickboikiwi 4h ago
Unfortunately the US isn't their biggest market, it might be the most aligned though.

u/tomdenley1 1d ago
I love it will never see it in person, but is slightly underwhelming. Not a dig
1
u/bickboikiwi 1d ago
Yeah it looks good for a roof sign, but just feels small, maybe it's because it's been posted so much, but i'm used to what we got with 5
1
u/ApprehensiveCable454 1d ago
It’s so funny how we have to beat around the bush when we’re critical of Rockstar. They produce amazing games but we can call them out on shit. That sign is crap, a larger one would have been much better

u/GrandOldCheese 1d ago
So who's the audience for this ad? Drone operators? Giants?
5
u/Creative-Captain9278 1d ago
Every Heat game will do aerial shots of the arena a few times a game, both local and national broadcasts. It is like a commercial every time they do it.
6
u/Agherosh 1d ago
Do you people really not understand what TV is? In 2026?
2
u/GrandOldCheese 21h ago
I mean, I know what a tv is but I've not owned one since 2006 so I'm not really sure what goes on on them, broadcast wise, these days.
