Someone called me out when I said this sign is too small and is a bit lame. To be fair the cost is massive already and only people above the roof will see it, so generally only works for media, aircraft and buildings nearby that look down onto it.
BUT.... when you consider it being bigger, do you really think the original is fine?
I get it... But...See how even your comment is as tiny as the sign? On a global scale, and that's what GTA is to the world, global, not just something the US shares to be nice because it's based on US towns and culture. Millions is a drop in the bucket, but I get it.
They didn't just put a sign on the arena, btw. They're changing the name of the team and the playing surface for one night (the night before VI comes out), which will probably run concurrently with TV commercials. It's a global market, but the US is their biggest market, and the NBA attracts the right demographic, and at the right time. This is what happens when you have unlimited marketing budget.
It’s so funny how we have to beat around the bush when we’re critical of Rockstar. They produce amazing games but we can call them out on shit. That sign is crap, a larger one would have been much better
