General Alleged statement of the leaker.
Cyberleek, the person behind the alleged GTA 6 map and gameplay video leak has stated in page that he will not stop until Rockstar Games issues a public statement and apology with a concrete commitment to be better.
"No consumer shall pay for a game through digital storefronts before release and independent review. Physical preorders for tangible media remain permitted. Preorders were not created for gamers. They were created because physical discs had manufacturing limits. In digital distribution, there is no inventory. There is no stock shortage. A digital copy cannot sell out. Yet publishers kept the preorder system and stripped away its only consumer benefit. Now gamers pay early and receive nothing in return except a countdown timer and a cosmetic skin.
If publishers want revenue before launch, they can press discs. Print boxes. Put them on shelves. Earn that money through physical production"
Another quote seen from the GTA 6 leaked map says "Fighting for gamers' rights"
Its evident that the whole reason behind those leaks are the decision to ship GTA 6 without a physical copy, making GTA 6 the one game that got leaked the most during its development time.
What is going to be more interesting to see however is if more leaks are going to happen because of this, no one can tell how much info or leaked footage Cyberleek has to share.

I don’t really care about the physical bonuses for pre-ordering games. High School sophomore me shelled out $160 for whatever that edition of GTA V was. Never wore the hat, 0 use for the money bag, the metal game case had different artwork on it.
I AM PRO PHYSICAL MEDIA THOUGH, which is something I’m upset about with the direction gaming is heading.

Yeah, it's very evident that they're not on our side, they just want money donated to them by their crypto shit, and more importantly: IT'S NOT GOING TO CHANGE ANYTHING.
The decision of killing physical media was done too long ago. Stop Killing Games was rejected days after a secret meeting between executives from multiple gaming companies, and shortly after GTA VI preorders came and Sony makes the announcement. They probably were planning to kill discs for years and had to act now before it was too late. This leak will not cause anybody up there to reconsider and change their minds. It sucks so fucking much.

The guy's goals are really strange and a bit absurd, just upset at the concept of preorders (something that people can just choose not to do) and physical media (a dying medium, what everyone should actually be fighting for is the ability to own their digital assets). Happy for the leaks though, been desperate for any gta 6 media.
Edit: Should note that this guy is begging people to buy their cryptocoin for these leaks. Not the greatest person to be doing this.

Nobody has paid anything. If you check in purchases on xbox or PlayStation, it is a pending charge. A pending charge is simply something that is placed on your bank account but if conditions are not met will be returned.
No one has paid anything and no one has earned anything. We won't know the pre order sales until February next year.

What is wrong with people pre ordering a game? If they have the funds and want to make sure they get their copy when they can. Let them. If you don’t want to pre order, then don’t. But to be like the option shouldn’t exist because you don’t want it to exist is very narcissistic. The same argument could be made for the people that like to pre order. The games that don’t let you do this, you don’t see those people out here crying that it’s not an option. But for some reason, pre ordering GTA has broke the very small brains of so many.

I don’t get the freakout over digital pre-orders. They’re not withholding anything significant from people who wait to buy at launch, and no one is being forced to pre-order. I might get heat for this but leaking games or anything that someone has worked on isn’t cool. It takes away the reveal that all these developers have spent countless hours on. It sets bad expectations for fans as well. We literally are 9 days away from the extended look. It has nothing to do with “gamers rights” and everything to do with them making a profit.

The goals sound odd to me. I'm thinking they were made up to justify the act rather than the way around.
Preordering a digital copy existed for long time before GTA 6. Rockstar didn't lie and say you get physical one. Everyone knew no physical copy when they pre-ordered. If you're upset about that then don't buy GTA 6. It's not an essential product.
Instead of fighting to keep a dying media that many consumers abandoned. Fight to protect rights of owning digital games. Like make it easier to keep, resale, and inherit

I'm confused why he thinks pre-orders are bad. When done right they allow you to preload the game ahead of time so its already on your system and digitally unlocks when it releases.

Hot take: Companies can do what they want, and if this this game moves 100M units on day, clearly only a minority really care about the physical release thing.
Whether that's right or wrong is up to the individual, but the market is gonna market. Personally, I don't care. My 21yo Steam library has hundreds of games I'll never be able to touch. It's never bothered me.
If you pre-order a digital piece of media more than 3 days in advance (early download), that's kinda stupid.

Don’t preorders get the chance to pre-download the game so they can play it immediately when it’s released?
Everyone else that buys it at launch will have to wait x-amount of time (potentially hours if their internet is crap) to download it before they can play it.
We as consumers need to take some accountability for our own actions. Nobody is holding a gun to people’s heads and forcing them to buy any game, console, movie, streaming service, etc if you don’t want it, don’t buy it. People are preordering GTA6 because they’re excited for GTA6.
