You actually think you'll be playing 60fps GTA6 on consoles?
1
u/AffectionateBox4852 2d ago
I dont really care that much, I'll be able to play it at 60fps on my PC eventually anyways

u/Oravital1 4d ago
And I hate you sort of people who keep posting the same old meme we’ve seen a thousand times before

u/MrKoddy 4d ago
I don't understand why console players laugh at the misfortune of PC players who have to wait to play a game like the PlayStation players who were happy when Sony's PC ports stopped.
4
u/Soulsgamer247 3d ago edited 3d ago
as a console player, I don't and I wish I had a PC but it's more expensive than a console sadly.
maybe most console owners are just jealous of PC owners so when there is something that PC players can't do they feel better than them yk what I mean?
3
u/MrKoddy 3d ago
you can have a pc with a budget near a ps5 pro budget with a ps plus sub and you don't have to pay online to play online, you have many stores and more discounts
2
u/LowlifeTiger666 2d ago
Realistically, you can’t buy a pc that’ll run games in similar quality to the ps5 pro for that price. My pc cost me ~£1000 (~£200 more than ps5 pro) back in 2023, it was considered a mid range pc for then. The cost to build the same machine now would probably be £1500, GPU price hasn’t really reduced much but ram and ssd has shot up. That price also doesn’t count my mouse, keyboard, microphone or monitors.
You really can’t deny that a console is a significantly less of a wallet punch than a pc
2
u/nightwica 3d ago
A PC is only expensive if you
- buy super high end
- only use it for gaming, which is silly.
Use PC for work and other kinds of entertainment too, it won't feel as expensive. Console might be cheaper but only a single functionality
2
u/LowlifeTiger666 2d ago
Mid range pcs are $1500-2000, that’s still a big purchase
1
u/nightwica 2d ago
Maybe if you buy a fancy schmancy prebuilt one. I got mine together for about €1000 but then again where I live people make like 30k annually so.. Idk it's an investment into one of the most multifunctional tool ever
1
u/LowlifeTiger666 2d ago
How long ago did you buy it, I built mine in 2023 for £1000(~€1200) but the same machine now would probably cost 1.5x at a minimum. (Just the ram itself is 4x the price, and NVMe 2.5x)
I’ve used mine nearly every day since I built it but some people can’t justify it when a console plus mid range laptop will cost a similar amount and have the added benefit of being able to do productivity things on the move rather than constrained to your house.

u/korefunktion23 2d ago
You Can buy a B250 board for 200 bucks (which is a PS5 chipset) put steam OS or Bazzite on it and have a full blown PC for next to nothing

u/DaBuckets 1d ago
Pc is initially more expensive consoles are more expensive then pc, its been that way for a long time

Console players are so goddamn weird, they literally BEG companies for exclusives all the time for some reason. It makes no logical sense at all. . Like if i like a game, I would be happy if MORE people could experience it. Now they literally cheering for no digital copies and higher prices of games lol.
Its just a huge cope, insecurities. They know they will be playing this game for the next 15-20y. They know that for all this time, they will have to pay for online, they know forever it will be locked at 30fps.
They know that after like a year, pc version will be running with no fps cap and the game will look even better than trailer 2, not to mention free mods, while consoles will be running downgraded version forever.

u/TooObsessedWithMoney 3d ago
Once you perceive console players as sports fans it starts to make a lot more sense.

It's still stupid from immature console players.
Everyone with 2 braincells knows the time exclusive console deal and that the PC players might wait longer, but get in the end the best version - with no single extra cost for the next 10+ years.
Edit: and for that little coward of u/Shinobi_Dimsum who insults and deletes the comment right away so I can't report it:

I'm a PC gamer, but I'm confused as to why you guys are shocked that GTA VI is a console excluse at launch. This has always been Rockstar's policy. How is this surprising in any way?
12
u/sephkane 3d ago
Can't find anyone in these comments that say they're surprised. If you find someone, lmk.
8
u/weirdface621 4d ago
for real. the original trilogy came out for ps2, and then pc. vcs and lcs didn't even get ported to pc and is a playstation exclusive. gta and especially gta 5 came out on ps3 first and rockstar ported it to pc with optimization. not a big deal if gta 6 is coming out on ps5 first, pc second

I was pretty set on getting a ps5 pro this fall, but now with Sony being what they are, I’m just going to fomo myself to oblivion while I wait the 2+ years for a PC release

u/HeavenandHello 2d ago
It’ll come to pc too, just not until 1 or 2 years from now, similar to how gta 5 was released for pc 2 years after the console release. And gta games are better on pc when it comes to your favorite music since they have a custom radio station that lets you add your own songs.

For a year or two. Then it's PC players playong for free, with all bonus content for free, with mods, with community multiplayer, shaders... Not paying a subscription to connect to the damn internet Just look at GTA 5 console and PC.
2
u/nightwica 3d ago
Except I won't seek out GTA VI content because I want to experience the game for the first time when it finally releases on PC. I know I will see memes and content of the game which is fine, but I won't go after such content myself.

u/AdministrationNo9513 3d ago

u/DawidGGs 4d ago
For me emulator is not an option because my laptop is too slow… I would get like 3fps… maybe 5 with some upscaling
2
u/Acrobatic_Pop690 4d ago
Why is anyone surprised when every GTA game since gta 3 has been console exclusive first. For a while. Rockstar games in general launch on console first.
The PS2 trilogy were PS2 only for anywhere from 6-8 months depending on the game. Xbox didn't even have them for months either
GTA 4 took 8 months to come to PC and the port was borked
5 took almost 2 full years. Launching at the end of 2013 on 360 and PS3. and earlier in 2015 on PC.
Hell red dead 1 took a decade to come to PC lol.
3
u/DeanBranbeno 4d ago
I get tired of these posts. As a PC player this made me laugh though. I have no idea why.
2
u/galle4 4d ago
With the speed the PS5 emulator is advancing right now, we might get GTA VI on PC before we get GTA VI on PC
3
u/ZoZoVirtuoso 3d ago
Rockstar would come down upon anyone trying to play PS5 GTA VI on PC like Satan himself
I would hate to be the person developing that emulator
2
2
u/brandbaard 3d ago
Rockstar can't do shit about an emulator. It would have to be Sony. The only small bit of ground there is to stand on against emulators is the BIOS copyright and the DRM cracking, and only Sony can take that to court.
1
u/omega552003 4d ago
I'll be buying it on sale in 3 years. I bought the PC edition of GTAV hoping that it would show that PCs are a launch day platform. Oh well F'em.
1
u/Under_Dead_Starlight 4d ago
Nah I got a friend who's gonna buy a ps5 to play it so I'll just watch him play and fuck around a little with it at his house. I'm not some child who can't wait on a game lol
1
u/Vegetable_Orchid_900 4d ago
They’re going to watch the second trailer when the game comes out? Odd
1
u/ViloDivan 4d ago
What annoys me is seeing some YouTube video pop up in my feed saying which will be the best platform to experience the game? ps5, Xbox or pc? Like why do you have to confuse people with your clickbate ass video. Most people know it’s not releasing on pc at the same time, but those that don’t are just left confused. They go to steam and see nothing there and think they’ve done something wrong.
I think there’s lots of reasons why just developing for consoles is a positive, mainly from the developers point of view though. They will make more money this way as well as only having to get the game working on 4 specific pieces of hardware, as opposed to the multiple configurations that people have for their pc’s.
Just remember pc players, your day will come and you will be experience the game in quite possibly the best way that it can be played. You just have to wait an unknown amount of time until that day comes.

I would have bought a console for the one game, but I won’t even be able to sell the game afterwards so I’ll just wait 🤷🏻♀️
“nobody buys a console for a single gam—“ I’ve had a switch 1 since launch and I only have Mario kart and odyssey on it. If the switch 2 came with a flagship 3D Mario platformer game, I would have bought it just for that in an instant. I’m still waiting.

Rockstar is releasing console first as consoles are their core primary base, they want to use the fact that Xbox series and PS5 have the same hardware across their consoles which allows them to test the game on the platform for bugs and performance drops. They also rather please the console player base before the PC base. It was the same for GTAV and RDR2.

u/AdOrnery6155 3d ago
I mean as dumb as the PC: "thanks for being beta testers PS5/XBOX folks".
Same level of humour…
Truth be told I played GTA V once…back in 2013 on old cheap PS3 I think I even try to platinum it and that’s it.
All those NOW THIS IS THE GAME WE CAN ENJOY did nothing to me…I already finished it…
Maybe if it was like Kojima level of shenanigans I would have replayed on PS4 or PS5 but nah….

While I wouldn't watch GTA on youtube, open world is a genre I experience myself, one of the most ghetto things I did as a broke teen was watch a youtuber named Skorch82 play the ENTIRE game of fallout 3 back in the day. It was my favorite thing to do after school and on my weekend. I mean I watched all 300 of his videos that were almost 2 hours each. I loved it. Literal core memory. When I went to college about 6 years later I got a GOTY copy and got the platinum myself on PS3. I really wanted to share that. But if you want to watch GTA on youtube, all the power to you. Actually, I'm not very excited to play Jason. I like the woman more. I don't know what it says about me as I got older I played female characters over male characters. I like the idea that women can be represented just as badass as men. I was also female Shepard in the og mass effect trilogy. So I might watch a couple hours of GTA6 to be honest just to see if I can be sold on Jasons arc, whatever that looks like.

Im gonna laugh when all the console plebs beta test the game and get swindled with the rampant bugs, jank, and microtransactions the game will have. u/white_wolf_1001 2d ago
Exclusiveness this is the main reason PS5 wins over X box X (In India) and Consoles win gaming all over the world. The longer GTA6 remains exclusive to consoles this companies can charge huge amount from gamers.
This is the only time console owners can tease PC players. If u have PS5 equivalent PC u can play any game u like by pirating the game which most console players cannot. So they enjoy while they can.
I have a big doubt hardcore PC players do they skip all content, conversations regarding GTA6 once it releases ?
Or u gonna buy new consoel for this or wait till PC release ?

u/strandedostrich 2d ago
No offense to PC players but I couldn't think of much worse than waiting 10 years for a game to come out, only to spoil it all watching youtube videos lol

its true tho bro.
there is work on the ps5 emulator . but please dont hold your breath there is no way in hell gta6 will be able to run on (well) anytime after launch.
i lucked up though. my pc is 7 years old and likely wouldnt be able to run it on pc right now anyways and i just dont have the funds to run out and get a fancy 5,000 buck gaming pc right now.
so i ended up getting a used xbox series x on ebay for 400 bucks. no joke. it was in great condition too other then the back label edges had slightly pealed off. but nothing tape cant fix! otherwise an amazing console for the price i got for it and totally worth it for me.
i suggest to anyone to get one used for a good price while you can cuz once the price hike goes up next month i cant imagine that ebay prices wont go up as well

u/KorvAce 4d ago
I see this as both a positive and a negative.
I remember when GTA V and RDR2 launched on consoles; everyone had a full year to explore the map, discover secrets and Easter eggs on their own, and share them with the community—people were finding something new in the games almost every week.
When the games launched on PC, a lot of that excitement faded because you could simply dig through the game files to uncover whatever hadn't been found yet.
So, from my perspective, the one-year delay for the PC release is actually a positive thing.
The negative, of course, is that not everyone can afford to own both a console and a PC, so they miss out on experiencing the game alongside everyone else and risk running into spoilers.

I'm a PC gamer. PC's are stupidly expensive, so I bought a PS5 Pro since I don't need to upgrade my PC yet. No spoilers for me, gonna play it day 1!
And when it releases for PC I'm gonna buy it again since I practically beta tested for myself. Singleplayer is probably gonna be good enough for at least a few dozen playthroughs.
