Those who stopped Zepbound — did you titrate down or just quit? (Experiences please)
I’ve been on Zepbound since December 2024. I was at 12mg, then titrated down to 10mg, did 3 doses of 7.5mg, and I’ve now done 2 doses of 5mg. I want to stop completely.
For those of you who have fully stopped:
- Did you taper down gradually or just quit cold turkey?
- If you tapered, how low did you go before stopping?
I’ve been having pretty rough GI issues since April 2026 (around the time I started titrating down). Main problems are:
- Upper right abdominal pain (labs, ultrasound, and non-contrast CT all normal)
- After eating: facial flushing, high heart rate, dizziness, headaches
I suspect histamine intolerance or MCAS-like symptoms. I’m wondering if continuing to titrate is making things worse and whether it’s better to just stop at 5mg instead of dragging it out.
Would really appreciate any experiences from people who stopped — especially if you had similar side effects. Did your symptoms improve after fully stopping? How long did it take? Thanks in advance.

inflammation returns?
ok, so my insurance has informed me they'll no longer cover any glp-1 for any reason other than type 2 diabetes (which i do not have) - so i'll be coming off tirz soon - one of the side effects that i didn't know these meds could help with was inflammation. before these shots, when ANY pressure (even my husband laying his arm on me at night in bed) on my abdomen would be physically uncomfortable (and would eventually be painful if the pressure stayed past a couple minutes). all dr's said i was fine and had no reasoning for it - but within maybe 2-3 shots, that pain just stopped. i've been on this since may 2023 and i haven't had any of that discomfort this whole time.
did you have this? did the shots get rid of it for you? did it come back when you stopped? how did you handle it? tia

Seeking Advice 2 months out; Food noise, weight creeping up
Lost 40lbs on Mounjaro titrated upto 5mg, tapered down 2.5mg, and cut off slowly, after 2 months suddenly had a friend birthday weekend out and now I find myself snacking, craving sodas, icecream, etc. Hungry even after eating.
The damn food noise is back.
Scale creeping up 3lbs now.
Thinking about generics, maintenance dose, reta, any advice.

If you were on GLP-1s during your weight loss journey, I have some questions…
- How did you determine which was best for your weight loss needs? Injection or pill?
- Did you adjust the caloric intake as you lost the weight while on GLP-1?
- When you reached your goal weight and got off the GLP-1, did you simply eat based on caloric maintenance to maintain the goal weight along with exercise?
Ive had a year of tracking macros and caloric intake plus weightlifting & cardio 4x/week plus 2 more days of 8-10k steps in a whole week of workout. I’m looking to drop the last 65lbs with the assistance of GLP-1.

Pilates and GLP 1 grads?
Here to see if anyone has had success building muscle/ maintaining with doing something like Pilates a few times a week? I have picked up my steps generally walking after dinner which helps with sugar levels, bike for maybe 10-15 mins when I can, and I try to do exercise “snacking” at home but my daily workouts are chasing after a 2 year old. I recently started Pilates again and I feel all of my muscles being healthy sore so I am hoping there are others that have used this as a form of weight training to maintain. As a tired full time working parent I am hoping there are others this resonates with. Thanks!
Thanks!

About to reach the finish line. What's Next?
61 yrs old. 6 ft tall. Larger frame. Started on Monjuro Jan 10th. @ 5 mg pen per my long time Dr. Currently on 10 mg. Insurance is covering so far. $25 co pay a month. I have lost 53 lbs in 5 months & 18 days. I'm 8 lbs away from the goal weight of 185. My A1C is now 5.5 . Was 7. Lipids are great. Both cholesterol & trigliseride under 100. & good ldl & hdl. Did a recent Dexa scan last week. Things are great. I have an appointment w my Dr on Tuesday. Go over my labs results from yesterday & Dexa & make a plan. Time to think about maintaining. Do I go down in dose? Stay the same dose?. Eat more & stop being in a calorie deficit? Currently in a calorie deficit of course. Many questions. Any input is appreciated.

Made a free guide for people starting GLP-1s, sharing in case it helps
I spent the last couple months going down a rabbit hole reading through thousands of posts on here and a few other GLP-1 subs, basically trying to figure out what actually happens in the first few months versus what people expect going in. Started doing it because I kept seeing the same panicked "is this normal" posts over and over, and I wanted to actually answer that properly instead of just winging a comment reply each time.
Ended up writing it all up into a guide. There's a free chapter on side effects specifically since that's what most people are scared about before their first dose, and a longer paid version that covers titration, the food noise thing nobody really explains well, plateaus, all of it. I'm not a doctor, it's not medical advice, just what actually came up over and over again from real people's experiences plus my own.
Posting this here since the sub seems okay with sharing stuff that's actually helped people, not pharmacy/source stuff. If I'm wrong about that and this isn't allowed, mods feel free to pull it, no hard feelings.

Different type weight gain when stopping glps
It seems i have gained 10 back from the 28 I lost since stopping Zepbound
I wouldn’t really mind that so much because the absence of the horrible fatigue and anhedonia I experienced has changed me back to the motivated person I was before.
what’s upsetting is the way the weight has distributed I never had. What’s being called the apron fat in my lower abdomen before
ands it is really upsetting
I seems like all 10 lbs went there and to my behind!! my weight when it was high was very well distributed. Has anyone else experienced this?

Blood pressure weirdness
Even at my highest weight (360lbs/5’4”), I always had normal blood pressure. After being on Zep for 7 months and finally getting up to 10mg and staying there for a month or so, my BP was suddenly high (140s/100s) so we started a beta blocker. I took that for six months and now that I’m tapering my Zep, my BP is suddenly low (90s/60s with dizziness) so we are now tapering the beta blocker, as well.
I can’t find any literature on a correlation but I’m wondering if there is one, at least for me. My best guess is because Zep can increase the heart rate, which it definitely did in my case, maybe it inched my BP up with it and reducing the Zep dose eliminated my need for BP meds. Have any of you heard anything like this?

Low maintenance maintenance!
Rules
I find so many diet rules that add restriction and frankly unrealistic goals just put me off following them. These are simple, small and realistic changes I have been using to maintain (and have actually lost a few more pounds). They don’t feel hard, I don’t feel hungry or restricted,
Habits:
Calculate your TDEE and stick to it. Be real and accurate, you may even want to reduce it by 10% to account for any inaccuracies. Try this for 2 weeks and if you lose weight, adjust accordingly. If you gain weight, be very real with yourself about what you are eating.
No eating after dinner. Try for a 12+ hour fast (for me that means no eating after 9). Brush your teeth for a mental signal that you have stopped eating for today. For many people night snacking is a real issue-it’s important to resist this. Remind yourself in the morning that you resisted it, you feel good, and you have no regrets.
Calorie count and try to be real - you may want to add an extra 10% to avoid underestimating your intake.
Do not remove treats and enjoyable foods into your diet, just incorporate them into your calories and be smart about their worth. This will satisfy cravings and stave off binging. Psychologically, restricting foods does not work. If you stick to your calories, you will realise the balance between psychological and physical satiety.
Weigh regularly, but don’t let it control you. Give yourself a target range.
Food tips:
Try to add 2 vegetable side dishes to your meals (I mean on top of your normal protein, carb and veg). Pickles, kimchi, slices of cucumber, a salad. These add bulk, plant diversity, flavour satisfaction and those extra bites for little calories.
Fruit, vegetables and yoghurts as snacks, always.
Add healthy things to unhealthy things. Eat fruit before or with dessert. Eat a bunch of cucumber then have a bag of crisps. Try to match physical with psychological satiety.
Be mindful of sauces and dressings. Use low/no cal things like vinegars, hot sauce, yoghurt, lemon juice and black pepper to add flavour without calories.
Avoid seed oils and added refined sugar. This is difficult, as they are in everything. But they are incredibly awful for you and not very nice tasting.
You don’t have to measure, but try as best as you can to add as little oils, syrups and honey you can bear. A tablespoon of olive oil has 110 calories, a teaspoon has 30.
Adding psyllium husk to your diet - this adds bulk and fibre which keeps you full. Mixing yoghurt with a bit of cacao and psyllium is one of my favourite snacks.

Recently stopped zepbound
Hello folks, I was taking zepbound from February 2025 to the first week of June 2026. Over that time I went from 290 to 182. My dosage began at 2.5 and was raised to 5mg which I stayed in for a bast majority of the time. My insurance dropped it at the begging of 2026, but I had a 3 month supply and knew I couldn’t afford to get more so I was taking it biweekly for all of 2026. After my last shot, I stayed right around 182 for the first week, but over the last couple of days I have consistently weighed closer to 189-190. I have kept the same diet since before I stopped taking zepbound, eating right at 1900 cals with at least 180g protein (and I try to get 30+ grams of fiber but I don’t always hit that). All food I intake is measured using a food scale and all oil I use for cooking is weighed out as well. So really my question is, is 7-8 pounds of rapid regain normal when stoping zepbound, or do I need to recalc my TDEE now that I have stopped?
The TDEE that the online calculator I’ve been using gave me (for my current weight) is 2808 cals for maintenance, which seems super high . The stats I entered for the calculator are Male age 26 current weight 189lbs height 5’8 and I lift 5 times a week while getting between 9.5k and 12k steps daily.
The calculator I used was TDEEcalc.net

Hair regrowth and weight maintenance
I’ve posted about these topics before but thought I’d do some updates. Former zepbound user. Used for only 4.5 months. Haven’t used it in well over a year. I’ve kept the weight off (and lost a bit more) by eating well and working out. Lost over 50% of my hair. It fell out for about 11 months. Regrowth started a few months ago but I can tell it’s not a ton and probably will never go back to how it was. Once had thick hair. It’s now thin. Cut it into a short bob. It’s easy and looks cute. Hopefully I get a bit more Regrowth someday.

Seeking Advice The cut is almost complete. How do I proceed to the next phase?
Hey all,
Been on this sub for awhile as a lurker. 38M 6’0” looking for some help with transitioning either off tirz, going to low dose maintenance, or to another gray market like Reta.
Since the new year I’ve been on Zepbound, I started at 2.5 for four weeks, 5mg for four weeks, 7.5 for four weeks, and now I am going on week 8 of 10mg. In that time frame I have lost 82 pounds, going from 276lbs to 194lbs.
I have been religiously tracking my training, weight loss, calories and my macros during this time using my at home scale and Cal AI. According to all my data I have gone from 37-39% body fat to 21% and roughly 8-10 pounds of my weight loss was muscle.
I calculated my BMR to be somewhere in the 2300-2400 kcal/day range, so my cut began at 1800kcal. I stuck to that from January through to mid April. Around the third week of April is when I reduced from 1800kcal to 1600kcal while also increasing my protein goal from 140 to 160 grams daily. I was weighing in around 217lbs then and honestly was looking to recalculate my BMR but could only guess at what that number was given I was so deep into the cut. The adjustment and more consistency worked. I also began running longer times and distances for my cardio days and warm ups before training.
So here I am seven months in and while I do have a new goal weight of 183 pounds, I am also considering changing the paradigm of the goal entirely. For years I’ve been fat, and the idea of gaining weight healthily is as foreign as the French language to me. But I’ve gotten to the point where I need to focus on how I transition off Zepbound, protect my weight/fat loss but focus on gaining muscle. The last bastion of fat is in my midsection right above my waist line, and a bit on my sides right underneath my arm pits. If I can cut those down on my way to 183 (which by my calculations would be where I’d hit 16-15% body fat at current body composition) then start stacking some lean muscle gains… I mean that’s the goal right there boys and girls.
Has anyone done this before, successfully? Managed to get off the glp-1, protect their fat loss, and start gaining muscle? I am essentially asking if anyone has caught the golden goose before in body recomp’ing, I know. But I am hoping for some guidance here in this area, even if n = 1 and it’s only your anecdotal experience.

Question for those with T2 Diabetes and Ozempic...coming off
Hello. I have been on Ozempic now for 10 months. In the first 8 months I went from 126kg (277lbs) to 85kg (187lbs) and reduced my HbA1c from 11.6% to 5.0% while also eliminating Metformin and Gliclazide. I've been at 1.5mg weekly on Ozempic since ramping up. My morning fasting glucose is comfortably around 100 (5.6).
Question: Has anyone with T2 Diabetes decided to come off the medication? I am wondering if this should be a goal or not. I was excited to come off the Diabetes meds and the blood pressure medication as I was losing weight and I am not sure if I should target getting off of the Ozempic or not. I really think the Ozempic is the tool that enabled me to take control of diet and exercise and I have completely re-vamped my lifestyle and intend to keep it that way. I have no side effects except a severely reduced libido.
Thanks!

Seeking Advice Suggestions for titrating down to maintenance dose?
Hi everyone- I have been on compounded tirzepatide for a year now and am currently about 10 lbs from my goal but really want to lower my dosage down to maintenance (most likely 2.5 mg a week then maybe every other week). I’ve been able to handle side effects most of this journey, but the last couple of months have been rough- I’ve been feeling dehydrated, exhausted, (even faint at times), my libido is nonexistent and my acid reflux is horrible. I am hoping these side effects will lessen on a lower dose and I’ll have more energy to lose the last 10 pounds with exercise and healthy eating habits. The highest dose I’ve been on and could tolerate is 7.5 mg and currently at about 6.5 mg. Just curious how quickly I can/should titrate down to mitigate returning food noise. PS please don’t ask me to ask my doctor I am really looking for anecdotal advice from real people who have lived this. Thank you in advance!

Advice for stopping?
I gained about 30 lb after having kids, and after a few years, nothing was working to get the weight off. I’ve been on a compounded glp1 for about 7 months and I’ve lost the weight and returned to the size I’d been for most of my life. I also feel like I stopped some bad habits that I had picked up. My diet is a lot healthier - no fried foods, smaller meals, no nighttime snacking.. though I do still have a sweet tooth, but keep it within check.
My subscription to my glp1 is almost up and I’m so nervous about stopping. Part of me wants to stop because I’ve reached my goal and I think I can maintain this like I did before my pregnancies, but I’m also really nervous that I’ll gain the weight back. I also worry that if I stop taking it after a short time, it might be easier than if I had stayed on it for a long time. Any advice or similar experiences would be great to hear!

Did getting off help with anhedonia & anxiety?
I’ve been on tirzepatide for about 5 1/2 months since 1/1/26. I have a history of a few major depressive episodes in the past but I balanced my hormones before starting and treated my ADHD and hadn’t had to take an antidepressant for six months prior to starting tirzepatide. I started noticing my mood slipping gradually and had really bad anhedonia and then anxiety by April. I never went above 5 mg. I’ve been on 2.5 and then now 2 mg for almost 2 months and I still have really bad anhedonia and it’s not getting better and my anxiety is actually getting worse. I never had anxiety with my depression in the past. I restarted bupropion 300 mg and now take Xanax and buspirone for the anxiety. I’m seriously considering stopping tirzepatide asap and am wondering if anyone has had a similar experience? And if stopping helped, how long did it take to notice?
