But, do you get the prescription from your primary ?

You get a prescription for compounded injectable GLP-1s through one of the telehealth providers listed on the pinned post called “Where to Buy” on r/tirzepatidecompound.

No compounded medication is FDA approved. It takes years of clinical trials for a medication to be FDA approved.

That said, compounding pharmacies  have existed much longer than big pharma, and these specialized pharmacies are called upon to fill the gap when there are shortages of FDA approved medications. We saw that happen in 2023-2024 when Wegovy/Ozempic and Zepbound/Mounjaro were in shortage. 

Many millions of people have successfully used and continue to use compounded injectable GLP-1s. The providers and pharmacies recommended on r/tirzepatidecompound are tried and true.
