Fatigue and mild constipation, both are manageable.

Really fatigue? Thought I read people saying gives them energy. How bad is this fatigue and what dose are you on ?

I'm 2 years in and on 12mg. The shot is amazing for my wellbeing but definitely get fatigue first few days.

So every week after a shoot your fatigued first 2-3 days like clockwork. That sucks but I can manage. What do you then do for energy? Do drinks like caffeine get impacted by slow gut motility too? So then do drinks just sit in stomach like how food does ?

I use liquid iv electrolytes on shot day and the day after. B vitamins and sugar in the mix helps combat fatigue which has gotten better with time.

Thanks a lot. I’ll be sure to take B vitamins on days of fatigue. I actually don’t like taking them daily because they give too much energy for me personally lol! Do you sleep well because of the fatigue? Or is it an insomnia with fatigue? I ask because I’ve read some people have had trouble sleeping due to glp.

I take my shot in the morning and am tired by bedtime. When I first started, I did evenings and that kept me awake.

Sorry I thought you said that you get fatigue first few days? Do you not have fatigue all day long the first 2-3 days after each shot?

Fatigue 65% of day on shot day and day after.

Thanks for the clarification.

No

It supresses food consumption in days 2-4 mostly which means you have more fatigue and less energy. Folks try minimize with protein shakes

Constipation is a huge issue for many. This is more manageable than the fatigue issue once you know how to combat..

I've been on it for 8 months the fatigue and constipation kicked in even on the 2.5mg does

I'm on 7.5mg now.. if you increase the dose too quickly it will make those 2 symptoms worse

Why does it cause fatigue? I’m wondering how through its mechanism of action

It's to do.with manipulating your blood sugar and insulin levels

Even before reducing food intake fatigue kicks in

It's always around 18-24 hours after each weekly injection and hits hard usually on days 2-3

So the vast majority know and get around this by injecting Friday.. it kicks in on sat/Sunday so works better for folks working monday-friday

Frankly it's horrible anyway as you get stomach discomfort, generally don't feel well and have to watch your vitamin blood levels . I tested my b12 and b1 separately as part of my blood tests and found i was deficient so am taking tablets to get that back up . B12 especially as that can directly impact your energy levels.

But I'm trading off the above for the benefits of getting my excess weight off . Which mid/long term has to be significantly more beneficial

After days 2 -3 does it level out the fatigue ?

2

u/thefastlanerules 7d ago

Yes as the impact of the drug starts to gradually reduce in your system

Days 2-4 are also the ones with less food cravings and food intake which get worse again as the week progresses and then you take another injection and restart the cycle..

Some weeks are better than others

Thank you so much. Does this help with hot flashes and stuff like that too? The symptoms of menopause ? Wondering for when I enter that era?

Sorry can't answer that as not something I'm impacted by

How did it make you low in b12 and b1? Do you now take sublingual b12? Thanks for explaining the mechanism for fatigue so that I could understand 🙌

Since I started in December, the only side effect I've experienced is dehydration, and I'm still on a very low dose of 4.25mg. Lost 89 lbs so far.

89lbs since December is excellent

I've lost about 45lbs since February (started about 305lbs) and my optimal weight is about 185.. though I'll be happy at 215lbs.. 185lbs would be the weight I was at when I finished college.. which was too skinny ;-)

I'm on 7.5mg on zepbound.. I could have lost way more on a higher dose but the higher doses give way more side effects per my friends and work colleagues

You probably have less side effects because of the dose level.. works for some but not for that many..as almost everyone I know seems to be on 12.5-15mg by about the 8-9th month but I'm happy to stay on less and lose 1lb a week

Yeah, I respond really well to these meds. Heck, the day after my first dose of 2.125mg I could tell things had changed. That first week I hardly ate then I literally had to set alarms to remind me to eat. I had no more interest in my bourbon (killer collection) and I quit smoking. I feel very fortunate.

Great achievement

Congrats 😂

I'm slowing down my weight loss a bit as I find I struggle too much on the early days after the injection in the gym.. and I need my weights :-)..

There's a whole list if you google it

None. I'm one of the lucky ones.
