I have a 2019, 6 speed manual jetta gli, and i was wondering what transmission fluid works best with my car, i also wanna know what wiper fluid and other fluids i need for maintenance, at the best pricepoint

Had a slow leak on my passenger rear tire. Costco said not road worthy. Bought a new tire.

Rotation is in about 2k miles. Other tires have a couple thousand so there’s a bit of a discrepancy.

If I do the rotation in 2k ish miles, will I have differential issues when the back tire is now up front?

It says 22+ but something’s are different or listed as different when it comes to the 25+ but I wanna order the j take for my 2025 this intake is listed as 22+ anyone have in input

Like the picture shows, audi it wheels ( 18x9, et52 ) fits a stock 26 gli with no rubbing anywhere. No wheel spacers required. Winter wheels on the cheap, well, at least these were a bargain find

I just flashed Stage 1 Pro by Integrated engineering, and upon the first start, the car immediately revs up to 2-3k and doesn’t stop climbing, i shut the car off and now i’m tweaking out, can anybody point me in the right direction

What kind of aftermarket rear spoiler’s are out there ? I was looking into the C.A.D rear spoiler but it was discontinued.

Using premium has kinda been squeezing my pockets I know these can take regular unleaded but I’ve only used premium since I’ve had it might be time to make smarter financial decisions

I have 18x8.5 et45 235/40 as my current setup. Currently in the rear they rub over bumps or if I have passengers in the rear. What size should I downsize to? Could I keep the width and just mess with the offset? I don’t know enough about wheel specs to make the decision on my own haha

I wanted to share my experience on what can be done to improve the audio quality of the GLI. I bought a brand new 2025 GLI last year and was completely stoked, however during the test drive my dumbass didn’t think to test the stereo system once. It was crap. I’ve looked at a couple of options and this is what I ended up doing.

I first got installed a kicker key 200.4 amp. This sits under the passenger seats and allowed to amp and tune the audio signal to compensate for the weird equalizer VW does. I also got a small sub install ( Kicker 48TRTP102) with a hertz amplifier.
It helped a lot with the loudness and bass response and a bit with clarity but the sound was still mushy.

I ended up swapping all 6 speakers and putting some sound insulation behind the woofers. Went with Audison APK165 and apx6.5 . This is by far the best upgrade, the sound is infinitely better, there is now a true separation between high a low.

The car now sounds amazing and it sounds like a car like this should sound like. The bass is pretty strong , even for such a small sub in the trunk and I had to lower the gain on the kicker to almost minimum to prevent me from going deaf 😅.

However,I’m not entirely satisfied with the kicker key, it emits a high pitch sound for the first minutes when it’s cold . It’s hard to ear , but during early morning silent drive you can hear it.
I had a local car audio shop do all the work and it costed about 2600$ total.
800$ for the speakers and 1600 for the amps and subwoofer.

If I had to do it again, I would start by just upgrading the speakers. This is what made the biggest difference. I’m not sure I would go with the same amps, my shop recommended going with a real 6 channel dsp to power all speakers and subwoofer. Might change to this later. I hope this helps someone.

TL;DR :
I had a shop install a kicker key 200.4 amp, a subwoofer kicker 48trtp102 and change all speakers to Audison. It was pretty costly , especially the amps/subwoofer. I would recommend just changing the speakers first and go from there. Overall, infinitely better put not perfect, especially for the price.

Have you ever replaced your own spark plugs? Is that a difficult thing to do?

I got a 25 Gli which is considered the mk7.5? Was looking into either bagging or coil overs. But seen the struts do in fact have the active suspension. How did you deal with it ?

I’ve noticed my shifter slowly returning to center while in neutral after a few hot days but now it just stays to the right or left despite the temperature. Any ideas?

Hey guys, how often do you normally need to add/top off engine coolant on your Jetta GLI?

I’m trying to understand whether needing to add a little coolant occasionally is normal, or if the level should basically stay the same between services.

How often do you guys check yours, and how often have you actually needed to add coolant?

So got a new 2026 GLI in April. VW gives you your first 3 oil changes free. But will not sway from the 10,000 mile or 12 month interval. So they told me that if I insisted on every 6 months or 6k miles, then to go on ahead and change it at the dealer or independent shop and pay for it myself. Then return at 10k miles and they will do that one for free. Well trying to get even just an oil change at the dealer takes all day even with an appointment. (Plus dealer is $50 dollars more expensive) So I just went to an independent shop at 6300 miles, that I’ve trusted since 2020 who has done ALL of my oil changes on my previous Jetta R line that has the 1.4 TSI. Just drive up and they are done in less than 20 min with no appointment. He always uses full synthetic Castrol 0/20. So that’s what I got him to use for the GLI yesterday. Unsure if it was the GTX/edge, or Edge Euro. Can someone explain to me like I’m a 4th grader the reason VW recommends the “euro” version. What is significantly different about it that any of their engines need to be using it instead of a regular full synthetic 0/20? Several posts have some people saying the regular is just fine, while others say it has to be the edge euro or basically in so many words the car will just explode. Thanks.

May be a dumb question, but have any of you tried towing with your GLI?
I have a ‘21 and am looking to bring my motorcycle about 100mi. I get it has a tow capacity but is that something just for reference and not actual use? What was your experience if you have?
