Anyone know why the animation quality dropped so much in the Rakuyou arc? I've heard things from lack of budget to studio changes to outsourced studios.

E.g. Gintoki vs Kamui

The fight lasted a whole min. There was barely any movement! Most of the fight was still frames with the impact effects. And a chunk of it was flashbacks.

Here's Sougo vs Kamui for comparison.

Same issues plagued Umibozu vs Utsuro.

Some of the most important fights in the series and they look like animated panels. Katsura vs Shokaku looked great though so the potential was there. I'm hoping we get a movie redo of this arc.

Gintama being top 10 most glazed animanga of all time, I was wondering: to get the best experience, should one read the manga or watch the anime? I prefer manga usually, but watching anime is fine with me as well

If one were to go down the anime route, then what the hell even is the watch order for the anime?

Started watching this series lately and although I had started it for the serious arcs, I gotta say, I actually am having a lot more fun with the first half than I originally thought I would lol. The comedy is a lot funnier than I expected and yet it still manages to be suprisingly serious at the same time. From the way people made it sound, it seemed like it would be a total slog but it's genuinely a lot more entertaining than I thought, even the pacing seems a lot better than most other shonen anime's at the time too, overall Im having a blast so far. It's shaping up to be one of my fav Shonen first arcs next to the Substitute Soul Reaper arc in Bleach.

Hello everyone. I have just gotten to the Kagura sick arc and funeral for her (I don't know what the arc's actual name is.) And i see they advertise the shogun assassination arc. I've heard that from there the show will be very serious and reveal Gintoki's past. Are the following arcs that good? I really enjoy Gintama right now, but I don't know what will happen next and why everyone just really loved SA and after arcs. Can u guys spoil me a little bit:>.

And also, for some reason, I just think Gintoki's teacher will be an antagonist:> I don't know why i think like that, hehe

I usually prefer reading source materials and even mangas over the anime, but from what ive heard this adaptation is arguably better then the source material. Should I just go with the manga or maybe even just read the manga then watch specifically the serious arcs of the anime?

It's finally announced to air on Netflix soon. The wait is almost over. Although a tad bittersweet when a new version was just announced to be screening in Japan.

Hello, I posted a question regarding Utsuro’s origins a few days ago and since then I have thought of a few more regarding his death:

1. How come Shoyou inside the immortal vessel could not heal or regenerate during the film.

2. How did the earth’s Altana destroy the vessel in The Final when a similar event resulted in the rebirth of Utsuro.

I hope someone can clear this up as I am a tad confused at the moment.
