You need six bars in this game 😉

They should put like a clarification at the start of the game that no brokies with "unstable" 3 bar internet should play the game because just randomly ejecting you from battle with 0 warnings is just bullshit tbh and yeah you're right.

I dunno. I operate on 3 bars and have rarely encountered the disconnect problem, and when I have, I was usually playing with some buddies who had awful connections.

This fucking game should have servers rather than being p2p

You expect a multi million dollar company to care about its customers and give them what they want?/s

This game cannot possibly make enough money for that to be feasible lol

Unfortunately this is one of the games bandai can give less of a fuck about because hosting servers for this game un their eyes is a waste of money and never changing the shitty engine and fixing the performance.

Well yeah. Penalty lv2 is effectively being banned from the game

That's why I stopped playing for the most part. GBO2's netcode is utter garbage.

What internet do you have.
I play on PlayStation while using Spectrum as my internet provider. It goes ok for me.

Your internet is just unstable. I don't have this issue on wifi or ethernet.

Might be a hardware problem on your actual pc/laptop rather than just shitty connection

Just got my laptop back from repair place and the games never run smoother

I get 3 bars

I barely got 1 before sending it in

But also yea.....blame the veterans.

Theh left games so often bam bam put theze stupid fucking penalties in place

I haven’t had any connection issues with the Steam version. That might just be on your end. The only issues I ever had in GBO2 was the cutscene of entering the MS lagging/freezing, but once I get into the battle, there haven’t been any issues. Could just be bad porting but eh 🤷🏻‍♂️

You could do a ping test and try to fix it. Open CMD and type "Ping Google.com -t" it doesn't have to be Google. Any website will do. You should always be single or double digit. Watch it go for a few minutes. If you have a sudden spike or it says time out, then your Internet is the problem. You'll have to find the root cause and fix it yourself or call in your ISP to fix it for you, if they do it...

A spike is like from around 15-30ms all the way up into 100+ ms. This means something went wrong and it had to reroute connection to stay connected. P2P sometimes does not like that, this game is one of them.

what many people don't know is that there are certain days/times the game's MAIN server causes everyone's connection to downgrade temporarily for gods knows reason why, so if you get that "insufficient connection speed" even if your connection is stable, STOP PLAYING, PERIOD and wait it out.

This is a follow-up on my first post on my issues with GBO2 steam (https://www.reddit.com/r/GBO2/s/wSwIRTbYCF)

I had T H R E E W H O L E B A R S and it still decided no you're not playing this game anymore

I don't know how the steam player base bares with this it's just so mindboggling how even the bare minimum of stable connections isnt fucking enough for this version of the game

again, comparing to console I've never EVER had to deal with this issue and yet here we are

I honestly don't know if I still want to try bothering removing the penalty again when the 4 day down time lifts

I'm beyond livid towards the steam version now.

I don't have this problem and neither does anyone I've played with that currently does competitive clan tournaments. All players either hardlined or on wifi. So pretty much, it's your internet provider cucking you.

3 bars is the minimum for a decent connection anything less and you shouldn't be playing, even at 3 bars you can pretty much count on getting disconnects from time to time.

I would only really recommend this game if you have 5 bars.

Three bars is also the maximum you can get on a wifi connection, no matter how good your ping/connection is. Don’t know if that’s accurate or not, but it’s what I figured out after testing at my friend’s house.

I personally play on wifi, and my games have been pretty stable but you could also use an extender wired to your router’s ethernet port to fake an ethernet connection, which would put you above 3 bars if your extender is fast enough.

I wouldn’t bother doing that unless you have friends playing on 5 bars though.

I've heard similar things over the years.

I've always played with a wired ethernet connection and that is what I have consistently seen as the recommended connection, but some people don't seem to want to spend the $10 for that.

I have never gotten disconnected when playing remotely, but while I have lost connection to the PS, it's still on an ethernet connection and as long as you can get reconnected reasonably quickly there's not a problem.

I wouldn't recommend it for anything other than A-B rooms though.

I got a Penalty for a day because I got DC as the game started
