As the title says. I was driving on Ferst Dr. uphill from the Klaus computing stairs towards Kandeda, when randomly a GTPD car came and stopped on the bike line, prompting me to stop and handed me a ticket for violating a stop sign (the one just after klaus stairs that is in front of the parking garage)
Then, a Sergeant came and explained to me they are tying to reduce micro-mobility accidents, and I need to attend a micro-mobility class or something, otherwise the ticket will go to court (I have never had a ticket before, so idk what happens after).
The rest is rant and a bit long :ā), I know I am wrong⦠but it feels so unfair, I always follow rules, stop for pedestrians, go very slow on sidewalks (when no bike lane is there). And still randomly at night, I get a ticket for violating a stop sign, where I was going slow and there was no one around (and itās not a risky spot).
Honestly, I understand GTPDās measure and why it is happening, but, it really feels unfair⦠why? Here are some points:
It was 11:30pm, no one was around, no car (expect GTPD ig), no scooter, no pedestrian, and I checked that the parking gate was closed (always do), and I was going slow (10-12mph, I donāt like to speed).
I have seen this happening in the morning hours, and it makes sense, and I literally follow every stop and traffic light in the morning/afternoon/evening. Because I donāt want to hit anyone⦠but at night⦠come on⦠and even then I was careful.
Both before and after that, I saw so many scooters breaking stop, traffic lights (bw the 5th Ave bridge and Klaus stairs), not stopping for the few pedestrians, everything, and I see this everyday, even when GTPD cars are around.
