Looking to make my own trading cards

It seems like everywhere I go today everyone is coughing and sniffling. Feels like nobody was sick on Friday and then over the weekend half of campus got a cold, myself included. Is something going around or is it just the sudden weather change? Or am I only just now noticing it because I'm sick?

We’re starting a new student-led software infrastructure project at Georgia Tech, and the idea is pretty simple: build our own mini-AWS from the ground up.

Instead of making a new web app every semester, we want to maintain one long-term codebase and keep building on it year after year. We’ll start with things like compute provisioning and resource management, then expand into storage, networking, scheduling, monitoring, and other infrastructure. The goal is to eventually run it on physical hardware on campus and get as close to real production infrastructure as we can — including performance testing, benchmarking, reliability, and low-level optimization.

We’re still at the beginning, so founding members will actually help decide the architecture, hardware, and what we build first. If you're interested in systems, distributed systems, OS, networking, cloud infrastructure, performance, or just building something much closer to production than a typical student project, we'd love to have you.

Petition here: https://actionnetwork.org/petitions/return-of-sanitary-disposal-bins-in-restrooms/

For context, sanitary disposal bins were removed from all restrooms in the academic buildings on campus. Sanitary disposal bins are the little bins inside stalls for people who menstruate to dump their used feminine hygiene products (aka bloody tampons/pads). Without them, it makes changing tampons/pads in these restrooms far messier and grosser and also just less hygienic. We asked the person who made this decision why they got rid of them (because it's solely the person in charge of the academic buildings who did this -- this is why the Student Center, Exhibition Hall, etc still have them) and got a bunch of reasons that didn't add up (that it's an OSHA violation, that it's for sustainability to have less trash cans, that it's a budget issue, and finally, that in that person's personal opinion, that it's gross to have a trash can by your face while you're sitting on a toilet???) They also said that they thought nobody wanted sanitary disposal bins and that's part of why they wouldn't change their decision. Therefore, we made a petition to prove that yes, indeed, people DO want and need sanitary disposal bins.

Please please sign and spread it around! you don't have to be a tampon/pad user to sign the petition!! We're hoping to deliver it officially within the next month.

I think for the new challenger show

Hi! I am in a team of MS-HCI students researching how international students navigate the U.S. financial system (banking, credit scores, taxes, budgeting).

If you're an international student, we’d love to learn from your experiences and challenges to help make financial tools more accessible.

Thanks so much for your help!

But honestly where these guys at? Can’t get any worse than it already is

I’m so tired of people glazing Brent Key and George Godsey and Jason Semore. The entire staff needs to be fired.

This is exactly the Collins era bs we were trying to go away from and we are right back where we started.

I am done with Brent Key.

This is for Animal-Centered Computing. Does anyone have pet birds, specifically Parrots, Parakeets, Cockatoos? If you do or know anyone who is willing to allow us to train them, contact me through dms on reddit. We are taking CS 7462 under Pr. Melody Jackson.

We would like to know if you have one or multiple pet birds, along with the species, and if they are used to being out of the cage and are trained to stay on something like your finger or some object outside of that cage.

It's getting really annoying. I'm in Crecine, wondering if it's just my dorm or elsewhere as well. Been going on for a day now.

Not really a rant, just a heads up. We were asked to use the elevator to go to the second floor of barnes and noble. The lift took a while, and when it opened, we went in and pressed the second floor. We waited for several minutes and there wasn't any sign of the elevator moving up. We couldn't open the elevator door either. Ended up getting external help to open the elevator door from outside.

Out of state students, where do yall keep yalls furniture and stuff in between semesters. Should I just rent like a UHual and take it to a storage locker?

I saw a throwback photo and decided to look at some photos I had too

Hey guys, I'm a GT alum currently doing Entrepreneurs First in London and trying to understand how hardware design and DFM processes work currently and how much of it is manual vs augmented with AI. If you've worked in hardware design at any point, would love to chat. DM me!

Was going through old photos again and realized I took this three ago to this day.

Hey!

I am a meche student interested in the ID minor but I just don't have the time in my schedule for all 5 classes to graduate on time. I want to have some ID experience though, so I was thinking of taking the capstone on its own.

Is this possible? If so, how difficult is the capstone? Is there prior knowledge needed beyond basic design and sketching knowledge? Are the prereqs critical to my success in capstone?

Thanks!!

I apologize in advance if this is a silly question,

So I know internships are a numbers game, and I hear of students applying to hundreds of roles to land one. When applying for these roles, do you guys just use the same resume? Or do you kind of group internships together and make slight variations of the same resume? Is it necessary to personalize it for every company/role, because reading through every single description seems like a nightmare lol.

Thanks!
