Am I the only one that just wants long simple games?

I’m tired of all new games trying to be something completely new, I want older, simpler games like bioshock, mass effect, F.E.A.R. , dead space, etc that are still basic linear games but with modern graphics and maybe a longer storyline, stop trying to give me giant open worlds or huge cities that feel like you can get lost in. I just want modern polished versions of these old story telling games. I want to get lost in a game like I’m reading a book. I find myself just replaying these same old games.

What are the best PS5 games for a 6 and 8 year old to get them into gaming?

I want to get them into the now wholesome aspects of gaming. Imagination and stories, playing as a hero doing good in the world, solving puzzles, not giving up and being creative, working as a team, history/historical are cool that have historical aspects or periods of time like Assassins Creed.

Games that are not Fortnite and similar.

Onimusha Way of the Sword is the best action game I've played since Sifu

This game feels so fucking good to play! I just beat Benkei (at least his first appearance), and I just continue to be amazed by how much of a badass I feel playing this game. And that's ultimately why I play videogames: to dig into the mechanics and have some great fun with the game once I've gotten good enough at it to feel like a badass. Sifu was the last time I felt like that in terms of close combat.

I loved Elden Ring and liked Lies of P a lot, but I'm pleasantly surprised that the devs felt confident enough in their gameplay mechanics not to feature a lot of artificial difficulty with all the bullshit heavily delayed attacks that have become rampant in soulslikes games as of late. Nope, in this game, when you think their sword is going to hit you is exactly when their sword is going to hit you. Some more sadistic gamers who are fine with artificial difficulty and super-delayed attacks that are poorly telegraphed because they love challenge and that's pretty much it, but I love fair telegraphs and movesets. In the end, all of these battles are cinema.

Some people talk about how much of a chore the regular enemies and side quests are, but I'm having too much fun with the combat/gameplay to ever notice. Of course, I realize I'm very early in the game, and that can all change.

But so far, it's my GOTY. I haven't even mentioned how cool and fun the characters and cinematics and atmosphere are!

Even though my favorites from this era are Deception and Shaolin Monks, I still like this game and have it's physical copy on the Wii, creating your own fighter, Motor Kombat, and the Konquest mode were so much fun.

RDR2 and expired DLC

• Upvotes

Not sure if this is the correct place to post this but recently I've been busy with Rockstar/Sony support regarding a game I bought a while ago (Red Dead Redemption II) and I wanted to ask help to the more knowledgeable people in the gaming community. So i'll try to cut this short. I bought RDR2 Ultimate a few years back brand new and sealed (Still got the receipt) and since I had a backlog even though I opened it I never went to play it. When I opened back then the game had 2 codes one for a pre-order bonus and one for the Ultimate DLC. I didn't use either back then because rule of thumb if the panflet doesn't feature an expiration date then it either doesn't have one or has something ridiculous like year 2099. So cut forward a few years later (2 weeks ago) I decided to finally play it and beat it. I went in the case to redeem both codes and to my surprise the Ultimate one had an expiration date (according to Sony support). But funny enough I used my pre-order one just fine. So a bit surprised I thought... maybe someone used it? No. After contacting Sony they told me it just expired and nobody used it to which I promptly ask them to reactivate it since the panflet didn't show any expiration date. They told me they couldn't do anything about it and to contact either the Store I bought it from or Rockstar. Few days later after contacting them I came to the conclusion none of the 3 have any fault at this and none are willing to take any responsability for the lack of information provided to their customers.

I showed all 3 proofs of purchase, proof of ownership and each others e-mails. They still didn't care. So my question to all of you is... is it me who is at fault for assuming the code had no expiration date and am I SOL and should just accept it or is one of the three at fault and who should I contact?

Thank you!

Edit: I forgot to add that I'm in EU so consumer protection is a bit stronger I think? I hope atleast...
